Re: Tonight's dinner?

We are having fleischkäse cordon bleu - with sliced onion roasted in the pan alongside it to give it that homemade Sunday-dinner special touch.

If Switzerland had trailer parks....

until your post, I did not know there was such a thing as chili without beans. They're the best part of chili--plus high in fiber and antioxidants to boot!
Well, we had Mexican blow-out last night (all the Mexican stuff I had in the freezer, plus shrimp seviche and various other fresh stuff), and again for lunch today (my friend from Alba phoned me on Thursday to ask if he could come up for Mexican).

No wimps here, we went through about a kg of fresh Rocotos and Ajis between the three of us (plus all the stuff from the freezer)!

And yes, we had beans, but on the SIDE, where they belong!

Re: Tonight's dinner?

Tonight we are having pan fried sea bass fillets, with beurre noisette, pasley and lemon, served with new potatoes, a tomato and red onion salad, and rocket with a drizzle of walnut oil and shaved parmesan.

Re: Tonight's dinner?

Tonight's dinner was saucisson vaudois and boiled spuds. It was there, it was simple, and it meant I only had to unpack a pot and two place settings.

Re: Tonight's dinner?

just got back from hothot days visiting my family in costa rica and still a bit teary eyed. tonight will begin a long week of rice and bean dishes to wean me back into swiss reality...

tonight, black beans and rice gallo pinto style () with a yummy pollo guisado fresh mango juice and some choco bananos for desert. kind of like the picture below. pure yumminess and helps my homesick soul!

i think my hubby hopes the feeling with stay just so he has some delicious latina soul food for a good long time!!!

as for now it's all simmering goodness and pics will follow...

buen provecho!

Re: Tonight's dinner?

An excellent proverb! Something we could never do before, as OH never got home before 19.30/20.00- but now we are retired - we normally stick to it and sleep + feel better for it. So after an excellent raclette (best Vallée de Bagne cheese and 'viande séchée, with best Neuchatel Oeil de Predrix) at lunchtime -
what dinner?
