| | Valentine's Day meal - ideas of what to cook?
Has anyone any ideas of what I can cook for a Valentine's day supper?
Pregnancy is an issue so that rules out the usual suspects of rare meat, shellfish, ripe brie or chocolate mousse.
Thanks!
P.S. I don't want to hear the word Fleischkaese mentioned on this thread. | The following 2 users would like to thank Tom1234 for this useful post:

Rocket salad with grated parmesan and bacon bits / luxurious tagliatelle with a pesto-y/garlic-y/lemon-y/cream-y sauce / something sweet from Sprüngli / Teuscher etc.

Baked Chicken, home made french fries and a vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting
I'd be thrilled if my hubby made that for me!

Thanks! | | | | | I was told (by a pregnant woman) that it's ok to eat rare beef if it had previously been frozen. She used to book a table in the restaurant in advance, order Chateaubriand, ask us to freeze the meat for 48 hours and then come and enjoy her food. It might be worth checking out.
Other than that, I can really recommend this site. It fits in with the theme too http://thelovebite.com/ | The following 3 users would like to thank Ella 211 for this useful post:

I've used these recipes in the past and they've turned out really well and not difficult either (most important for me ).

Osso Bucco with creamy risotto Milanese. Sumptuous. | The following 7 users would like to thank for this useful post:

to start, do a home made, single giant ravioli with spinach and ricotta filling and a sage buerre noisette sauce. Put some fried sage on to garnish.
For dessert (after the osso bucco) I would go for a home made chocolate tart garnished with vanilla blanched pears and flaked toasted almonds.
