Anyone tried Maggi "Quick Lunch". Which taste do you like? I love Fleischkuegeli. I am quite addicted to it. Eating three times a day

Hi, what is this? I have never heard of it! At the risk of sounding like your mother (!), just make sure that is not too full of additives if you are eating so much of it

Do check the ingredients - anything with such a non-specific, generic name as Fleischkuegeli, often comes from what is known as "mechanically reclaimed meat", from the industrial size meat processing equipment - such as bandsaws and mincers - when they're "cleaned".

I love mechanically reclaimed meat!!

What are fleischkeugeli?

fleischkügeli = small meat balls.

On the Nestle site it says you should eat these along with fresh produce and not as an alternative so three times a day is probably a bit too much for these Swiss 'pot noodles'.

I don't want to put a downer on this, but do check the MSG (monosodium glutamate) content - this is a flavour enhancer that is widely used in Chinese cooking and makes you want to eat more and more!

Who cares? They are delicious and since crash landing in Basel I sustain myself off them, lost 15 Kilos since Jan first to boot.

You are right about MSG. However, MSG makes your mouth very dry after eating. Maggi "Quick Lunch" has no such impact at all

Slammer´s first month in Basel

I am proud owner of a device that I now know to be called a "kettle" and not "water boiler" and when you switch it on it glows blue..

... we we all know it's a water cooker

The word "kettle" did me not einfallen so I tried to explain to old Mrs. Slammer what a water cooker is.
oMS: "A what?"
S: "it's a thingy that you fill with water, has a plug and when you switch it on it makes the water boil, takes a few minutes!"
oMS: "Aaah, perhaps a kettle?"

S: ".. dats da won!"
