Re: (Food) What are you addicted to in CH?

For me, since it is something my mother-in-law introduced me to, the "Grillschnecke" served with sliced blood oranges which have been lightly salted and drizzled with olive oil is something that "says" Switzerland. (However much I suspect it may be more of an Italian thing )

When she makes it, she cuts the sausage into 2cm sections and fries them on their own in a bit of olive oil. Now that I make it myself, I cut it also but fry them together with some thick-sliced onion and some yellow and red sweet peppers.

Hmmm... thinking about it, maybe that will be lunch tomorrow.

Griess crème. I like the ones with figs and Emmi's version with rhubarb-strawberry.

A Bachmann shop in Metalli, Zug, advertises theirs as 'Zugerli' but I've yet to taste them. Any good, anyone?
Don't try them. They are not good. It's a shame to call them Zugerli
They are bigger (not comfortable to eat), with strange flavours, the creamy part is not so creamy, and the top and bottom is harder as well. and they are not even much cheaper...

To stay on topic, in Switzerland I like
- unsalted butter
- Zuger Chriesiwurst
- as mentioned before; Butterzopf

+1, but just plain, and only Emmi's version. I don't buy it regularly - if I did, it would be the only thing I ate.

Other foods, I go through phases. I'm currently in an Apfelschorle (apple juice with sparkling water) phase.

Oh, I love Apfelschorle - it's the drink I got to know and enjoy in CH and Germany.

Nowadays I'm often thinking of ways to cook glutinous rice (both savoury and in desserts) and herbs (such as dill, coriander, mint, different kinds of lime-scented leaves) because while on a trip to Laos, the Laotians served it tastily and we often ordered it at mealtimes.

Re: (Food) What are you addicted to in CH?

I drink cranberry juice quite often to flush out toxins but find it to be a bit bitter.

I have recently found at the COOP that they sell a cranberry and apple juice mix, which is sweeter.

Also good with vodka!!
