Fondue of any kind.

Cheese of any kind.

Dead animal products of any kind.

Eastenders.

Dr. Who (though I was addicted to that when I lived in the US as well)

The amereti (sp??) biscuity things, and also there are these other kind of biscuit/pastry things you get in a box, that are in the shape of small swirls, I can't remember what they are called, but they are heaven in a box!!!! Yum yum. OMG, I am so hungry now!!!

Re: (Food) What are you addicted to in CH?

Eierbrötli from Sprungli
Chocolate truffles from Teuscher

I'd get the SBahn to Stadelhofen and walk (well waddle really as I was pregnant up to my ears) to work along the lake. I'd pass by this delightful Lindt & Sprungli place for these egg canapés.

Very sweet memories

Re: (Food) What are you addicted to in CH?

What a great thread!

Tried, in vain, to find the Lindt with the sea salt. I even bought regular dark chocolate and sprinkled some salt on it. It was... ok. I am a milk chocolate person, really, and am forcing myself to like Dark Chocolate as it is super healthy and seems to be kinder on the waist.

Now that I have discovered my new passion, forcing is not an issue: Lindt Excellence Cranberry Intense (also with pieces of almonds). OMG. Even my kids like it. It is heavenly!!!

This reviewer had a mouth-gasm:

Peteandkendal, do not be fooled by dark chocolate. Look at the calorie count in fine print on the packaging - not much difference!

Right now I'm hooked on the Suchard milk choc with raisins soaked in rum - drunken grapes of wrath, anyone?!

Re: (Food) What are you addicted to in CH?

Savoury baked goods from chocolate shops like Teuscher and Sprungli are ridiculously good, and better than any actual bakery I've found. I'm a punschkugeln fan myself, and a connoisseur - I try to get one from each place and compare - Teuscher wins so far.

Re: (Food) What are you addicted to in CH?

Spicy Italian sausage
Anchovies
Thin green asparagus (they grow them in our town).
A few squares of anybody's dark (70% or more ) chocolate melted and poured over strawberry ice cream.

mmmmmm...... that's right now. I'm sure it will change, though.

Re: (Food) What are you addicted to in CH?

Such warm weather gets me addicted to Mini-Mix Sticks from Aldi (different kinds of chocolate-covered vanilla ice-cream on sticks). So delicious, yet a fraction of the price of Magnum Minis.

Bellevue Deli thon sandwiches. Or the curry chicken sandwich. Or pretty much anything Bob and Werner make for the day.
