I was hunting around Basel for beef ribs last summer. It's my favourite cut for barbecue but impossible to find. I asked my local Coop to order some but they called back two days later to say they can't get any. Also asked the butcher shop. And Geant Casino in St Louis. No joy.

It's odd because pork ribs are widely available. The cut is known. You can even get marinated pork ribs ready for BBQ.

Anybody had better luck with beef ribs?

What is your recipe for Beef Ribs? I tried them once (back home) and I obviously got something very wrong.

I picked up some marinated pork ribs from Aldi this week. They are OK if you like the marinade - it certainly isn't a smokey BBQ marinade.

Hrm, if you've checked those, my next best suggestions would be to check the butcher counter at Manor or at the Asian markets.

Actually, there is a Portuguese deli / butcher on Mülhauserstrasse, maybe they'll have it (or be able to tell you where you can find).

A friend of mine is from Texas therefore a big beef rib eater. She has tried everywhere also asking her butcher but for some odd reason, impossible to get!! I have no ideal what they do with them??
