Re: strawberry picking zurich

now is the time to go everyone. we went at the weekend and had a tremendous time eating / picking strawberries.

4 kills for 20 CHF and they tasted delightful.

Where did you end up? I'm in Langnau and have heard there's a great one around here but not sure where.
Thanks!

Re: strawberry picking zurich

I drove by a strawberry picking field between baden and Würenlingen the other day. It's on the right hand side as you are driving away from Baden.

Follow the strawberry sign from Autobahn A53 Exit 2 /Wangen.
The field is at Weidstrasse/Rotbuchstrasse

They also have Sugar Snap Peas (Knackerbsen), Snow Peas (Kefen), and regular Peas for picking. Yummy.

I drive by this place to and from work everyday. I must make it a point to stop and pick some produce. I would love some freshly picked sugar snap peas

Re: strawberry picking zurich

Just went to the one in Mettmenstetten (http://www.fruechtepfluecken.ch/kontakt/adresse.html) today - last day of the season! It probably seems obvious to some, but we almost didn’t realise we had to bring our own buckets so be sure to do that! When we arrived there was no one at the kasse, but you weighed your bucket and used the provided masking tape and pens to write on them how heavy they are to tare them out at the end. Looked like they only accepted cash.

I've come across this site:

https://www.selberpfluecken.ch/

which has some self-pick locations/produce mentioned.

When I was a child, we had an overweening bramble berry row. It was about 10 meters long, if not longer and it would.not.stop.producing berries. And guess who had to go out there every bl*** day and pick them? My arms used to look like 100 kittens had played with it.

I love bramble-berries again and I'm kind of tempted to go visit one of those farms.

Who said childhood traumas can't be overcome?
