El Mais on the Josefstrasse has a wide variety of yummy Mexican salsas if you are getting bored with Old El Paso.

Re: Source in Zurich for Pace Picante sauce?

Maybe try your hand at making some from scratch?

Here is a site with some recipes for salsas as well as some other things you may find tempting.

I've not ordered from El Maiz personally, some of the other forum members "swear by it" though. I HAVE ordered from American Food Avenue though and was quite pleased with the rapidity of my delivery, even using normal shipping, as well as the condition of my purchases upon arrival.

We used to get Ortega brand canned jalapenos and chiles as well as sauces and salsas when we lived in Texas and California, I remember liking them well. I have used Newman's Own brand more recently, their pineapple salsa is fantastic.

Re: Source in Zurich for Pace Picante sauce?

Thanks, both of you for the great links / suggestions. Gave me a couple of terrific resources for other things as well. I take the 4 right past El Maiz every day! And, the American store online looks like something we'll use some. My wife is planning to learn to make salsa, which I'm sure will be better than Pace. I appreciate you taking time to respond!
