Swallow. You don't get the full sensory experience if you spit.

Re: Spit or swallow ( when wine tasting )

Spit! Even if its at the table to which you have been invited. To swallow a rubbish wine is a sin. So gob it out! as much as your hosts maybe offended, you will have provided them with an invaluable lesson for the future.
Ps its always best to supply some stain remover at that point for their carpet

Another irregular verb?

He's a pisshead

You're sloshed

I'm fully sensorily experienced*

*Try saying that when you're sensorily experienced to the full.

Spitters are quitters.
Swallowers are whistle blowers (i.e. under circumstances when they had one too many and they cannot bite their tongues)

Isn't spitting out a good wine an equal sin?

Nope, cos you dont know till youve gobbed it out if its any good or not. Having said that, you wont see even the faintest dribble out of my trap when it is imbibing a 1995 Cos Estournel from that hero of mine Mr Prats

I see from the poll results that we can now determine that 75pct of EF rs swallow..................

Re: Spit or swallow ( when wine tasting )

I mean you sit in a nice restaurant, nice table. The sommelier brings the wine you ordered, opens bottle and gives you a glass to taste it.....and you spit it if you don't like it (tainted wine or corked) ? hmmmmmm

Nooooo, by the time youre in the restaurant, hopefully you will know the wine you are choosing. However, if its corked then wooshh back in the glass no probs.
I thought though we were talking about wine tasting - something totally different whereby you are discovering wines by an unknown .
