Where to buy good fish in Geneva or surroundings?

So, I have been having this crave for fish for weeks now...but I really don't dare to buy it in the Migros or Coop, it looks so sad (and not too fresh!) and not so much choice!

Where do you usually buy it?
Is there any good place in surrounding France?

Thanks a lot!

Honestly speaking, i have been trying for 6 years, unfortunately all what you get here is frozen sea food....apart from fillet de perche which i'm not so big fan off (being a of a Mediterranean origin myself), anything else will be frozen and tasteless, i do take flights from time to time to goto Rome or Brindsi to get my treat of seafood.

The best of the frozen sea food i have found was in a store in Ferney Voltaire, it's a big one, don't remember the name now.

Forget about Geneva, try fishmongers at the Ferney market on Saturdays or Divonne on Sundays.

Manor is pretty good. The other alternative is Aligro, which has an excellent and large fish section:

The Geneva store is at Les Vernets:

Ferney is in France, behind the airport. Bus F goes there in case you don't have a car. The market is open every Saturday morning, the best time to go would be before 10 am because it is far less crowded but you can find good fish even around noon. There are three fishmongers there, what we do is look around and select what looks best on that particular day.

do you have Aldi there? they have really good, fresh dorado, which is a famous Mediterranean delicacy. I was pleasantly surprised to find it here in central europe

How happy can anyone be that's lying naked on a cold slab before the eyes of everyone passing by?
