From today's Tages Anzeiger:

"Life Science researchers at Zurich's ETH have long suspected that beer contains small traces of female hormones. To test their theory, the scientists fed 100 men each with 12 large glasses of beer and observed that 100% of them gained weight, talked excessively without making sense, became emotional, and couldn't drive.

No further testing is planned."

Oh I know that, but if you're really homesick for the Dog and Bull, you can close your eyes and almost convince yourself you're having a Ram and Spesh*.

Difficult to get the ambience right though - where do you find a bunch of sourf Londoners swearing prolifically and proficiently in Geneva?

If you manage to get the finances from a second small African nation, then you can order a brandy and Babycham for the ladies.

Ramrod was my beer of choice when I lived in Wimbledon for a while

and a "proper steak meal" as well!
sadly the local was only stocking sam adams lager in bottles - more suitable for chav community -so it was straight London Pride.
