Yep, we're so desperate for fish & chips here that we'll meet you at the airport with a stomach pump.

I used to help run a Classic Car show in Sandwich at the Caravan Park ("The Classic Sandwich") , Sandwich is such a lovely little place, I hope the closures haven't hit too hard.
You are the second Sandwhicher I know of in Switzerland. Soon we will have a whole bread.... I mean loaf.

But this is getting off topic. We are busy drooling at the thought of fish and chips and mushy peas this evening.

@all Rum lovers... Let's get an event going. Warm Summer nights, a beautiful picnic place a few minutes walk from Burgwiess Tram stop by a river in a dell in the forest... (T11), some Ragga Reggae, Soca and Dancehall music... Peas and Rice, jerk chicken, fish curry...
Why oh why isn't there a pharmaceutical industry in the Caribbean? Well, a legal one at least.

Oi! It's Zurich direct or nothing!

I'm just thinking of that rum I nearly did myself out of!

This thread is useless without pictures tasters.
Except for the pork-scratchings since I recently learned that they are just the pig-skin with the bristles burned off, and not always too well at that.
I enjoyed them up to that point.
Now I spend my time ferreting around in the packet looking for greasy hairs
I don't seem to have suffered though in my many years of pork-scratching eating.
I've now switched to Melton Mobray pies and lord knows what's in those

We good again now?
Of course!

Well...it's time to decide what to have for dinner tonight. I think fish and chips are in the lead. Maybe I'll visit the Codfather.

But whatever you do, don't take the number 50 bus from Basel Airport down to the SBB railway station in Basel. I think it runs right past Adrian's flat!

I am going to improve upon it and have a fountain of Branston Pickle flow from the top onto a bed of Salt and Vinegar crisps.

A quick useless fact.

Stilton is a type of English cheese, known for its characteristic strong smell and taste. It is produced in two varieties: the well-known blue and the lesser-known white. Both have been granted the status of a protected designation of origin by the European Commission, together one of only seventeen British products to have such a designation. Only cheese produced in the three English counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, and Nottinghamshire – and made according to a strict code – may be called "Stilton". This means that cheese produced in Stilton, the village in Cambridgeshire after which the cheese is named, would not legally be allowed to be called Stilton Cheese.

I've been back in England nearly 2 weeks and have just over another week to go. Have had almost everything on my "to eat" list (including 3 curries, the best Chinese in the world and many more things) and have only fish and chips, a roast and a fry-up left. How much do you hate me?

If it makes you feel better, I feel pretty obese.

Re: Last Supper

We go back to edinburgh every couple of weeks and top of our list are:

1 - Fish and Chips (probably had it twice a year before we moved to switzerland - but now have it on most trips back)

2 - steak - too expensive in Basel

3 - Sushi - too expensive in Basel

But the quality of other fresh ingredients we get in Basel more than make up for what we can't get or can't afford. Now we bring food back to Edinburgh. So you may have to say goodbye to a few old favorites but you have so many good things to look forward to!!

Re: Last Supper

Ok, just finished my fish and chips from the Codfather. I think I'll have to do fish and chips again as the Codfather also sells kebabs, burgers and pizza so not a traditional pla(i)ce. Nothing wrong with the quality of the fish and chips, I just want the genuine experience!
