raspberry leaf tea

Does anyone know the German/Swiss name for Raspberry Leaf tea or whether you can get it here. Or is there a Swiss equivalent. I'm talking about the stuff they recommend in the UK that can sometimes get labour started.

Just getting a bit desperate now!
Thanks

Re: raspberry leaf tea

I've heard of it, perhaps a midwife can help you.
Otherwise.. very long walks might help

Re: raspberry leaf tea

Himbeerblattentee, if memory serves me well, and if you go to the Apothek and ask for it they will almost certainly have it (loose-leaf usually). Not sure if the Drogerie have it, but they seem to have other herbal stuff so probably.

I used it with both pregnancies from seven months or so, I don't know how much difference it makes if you just drink it to try to bring on labour - you might do better just asking the pharmacist what she can give you to help bring on labour. (There are stronger herbs that are more likely to do the trick, but then they carry a risk of course).

Best of luck, hope it's all over soon.

Re: raspberry leaf tea

Hi Hazel, Have been thinking about you lately in this ridiculous heat. Hope you're coping...

As for the raspberry leaf tea, I can't help you with the German/Swiss version but I certainly would recommend it. Have yu taken it before? I didn't take it for bringing on labour but for making the uterus more effective during the birth. I took it at the end of all three of my pregnancies and it did the trick in that respect every time! In fact my last midwive even commented on what an effective uterus I had when it was contracting back to size so quickly after the birth! Obviously I've got no idea whether my labours would have been equally as quick if I hadn't taken it but I wouldn't risk it!!

I took it in tablet form rather than as tea (mostly because I don't like tea!) so maybe you can find it like that. My inlaws are coming over on Saturday so if you don't manage to track any down I can always ask them to bring you some over. Good luck in your search (and the birth!) xx
