Sorry to resurrect an old thread... but has anyone seen Asier here anywhere? (They're sort of pickled marrow slices, quite thick cut, and absolutely delicious!)
My mother wanted me to bring her some back from Denmark this summer and I somehow managed to forget! So now I have till Christmas to get hold of some.

I've moved this to its own Thread as you have only a couple of months to find it! Hidden away behind the heaps of dark bread in the other Thread, no-one is going to notice it.

I haven't seen it at Aldi here. I'm sure they would sell it in Denmark, if they have Aldi there, but there's probably not enough demand here.

QODK, what a kind thought! But I'm sure they would complain at jars of pickled items in your hand-luggage - and you might get exciting explosions if you put them in the hold.

I did look at Ikea a couple of weeks ago but nothing there except sild.

You could try Kaufland in DE, the one we visit in Konstanz has lots of pickled stuf and i am pretty sure i have seen asier as well.

Yep, was in kaufland in Bad Säckingen, they had 4-5 different types of "asier", they are called senfgurken.

Tested them today, spot on!

Thanks Dover! That sounds excellent, we can arrange to drive through Germany on our way at Christmas and stop by a Kaufland then!

Just in case anyone else desperately needs these... I actually came across some in Globus this week, called "Senfgurken" as Dover said above. The ones we got are cut a bit thicker than I expected (one of the pieces is as thick as my toddler's wrist!) but they taste right.
