For all the complaining that goes on about the choice and quality of food in Migros and Coop, here is some good news for a change (at least to those who care I guess). In a study comparing the 130 largest retail companies in the world, Coop came out number one, followed by Migros and Marks&Spencer.
The factors which were taken into account were: Working conditions in the company and the supply chain, providing customers with information on product attributes, promotion of products with additional environmental or social
benefits, sustainable cultivation and production conditions in the supply chain as well as climate change.
A summary of the findings can be found
here - and of course, Coop are already boasting about it in the newest TV-ad.
