Waffles

Anyone know where I can buy pre-made waffles? I've searched the thread but only found results for where to buy waffle irons. I know, I know, I can make waffles myself - and used to do it a lot on the weekends - but sometimes I just want to throw something in the toaster without all the mixing, bowls, ingredients, etc.! So far I've just looked in Migros and Coop.

Thanks!!!

Re: Waffles

I've seen them in the Co-op in Richterswil (the big one next to the A3).

Have you tried a bigger/different Co-op?

Re: Waffles

I too have seen them in Coop - and purchased them, once only!

The reason for the once only is that they are dessert waffles, not breakfast ones, they are very sweet, coated in some kind of sugary syrup or something. Great as a base for some whipped cream and chocolate sauce maybe but probably less great as part of normal breakfast. They are definitely NOT Eggos!

Besides that, the sugary whatever coating scorched when I tried to toast them.

Better bet (if you want them for breakfast!) is to get a waffle iron.

Re: Waffles

Thank you - I found them in a larger Coop today and purchased them to try. You're right - not even close to what I was going for. Very sweet, and very dense. I like light, crispy, airy. I'll have to buy a waffle iron I guess! Gosh - cooking here is definitely more time-consuming than I would have imagined.

Re: Waffles

i like the sweet, dense, calorie-laden variety. the kind that is so stodgy you are likely to fall into a coma after eating 2 mouthfuls.

Re: Waffles

or you go and have some waffles/pancakes at the restaurant Zum guten Glück on Weststrasse. Was there last week for the first time and loved the pancakes (they are kind of a mix between american and french crepes). If the waffles are similar, you will enjoy
