receipe for tikka masala sauce

Hi,

Has any one please got a receipe to make tikka masala with ingredients can get from here... I was lazy at home and used to use the premade jars but do miss it and although they had the jars here they are heavily priced and would rather make my own sauce from fresh ingredients.. or a similar curry, balti, rogan josh, bhuna....

Thanks for your help \

Or perhaps you should come on 'Swisspea's Foods of the World shopping tour' ...we find the big Indian/Sri lankan supermarkets - Personally, I have a powder that's cheaper than the pre-made sauces and does the trick, but I also have this awesome sri lankan curry paste which is much stronger than the usual sauce-in-a-jar - from the sri-lankan grocery in Adliswil...one jar of this paste can easily do us 6-8 meals...

Chicken tikka is a predominantly north Indian dish , one should never use sri lankan curry paste to cook this recipe as the taste greatly vary in the ingredients used in north and south indian style of cooking.

Re: receipe for tikka masala sauce

At an Indian restaurant in Derbyshire we went to the other week, they had "Chicken Tarka" on the menu.

Apparently it's like Chicken Tikka only it's a little otter.

Cheers,
Nick

Re: receipe for tikka masala sauce

There are some who think the dish is Glaswegian in origin
