| | Products which don't deliver...
I'm not sure if this belongs in the food or the complaints forum
Normally, I like to cook - at least when I have the time. Busy day today, so I cooked some pasta and opened a tin of Rio Mare per Pasta - tuna, garlic and chilli.
Hmmm.....I could see the tuna (grey mush) - but no garlic, chilli or parsley (as listed in the ingredients) It looked like cat food - no - correction - that looks better!!
The picture on the package was absolutely nothing like it!!!
Ok, you may say it serves me right for not making it myself, but it made me wonder what other food (or other) products have failed in living up to their claims....

yup.... water packed tuna looks awful as well.
I agree with you, it's so much better to cook a nice dish yourself | The following 2 users would like to thank Sky for this useful post:

Supa glue has to be the singe most useless product out there, good for sticking fingers together, nothing else.

I actually really like their other tuna salad cans, the one with barley and one with beans and corn, it's awesome for pasta and salads. Overall, though, it is very processed, it's a prepacked, manufactured over processed tin, and cheap, so you can't really expect so much | This user would like to thank MusicChick for this useful post:

And in the Coop, it costs near enough 4 CHF a tin, so not so cheap either. http://www.riomare.it/en/prodotti-det.per-pasta-40.htm |

Hmmm...I hate to say it, but 4fr for a can of something in CH will often get you just a mediocre quality. 4fr for a product in Coop, is on par with say 2fr in Aldi/Lidl. It's not always that way, but still.
I don't have high expectations and don't really recall any major disappointment, I think I do it the other way, have zero expectations, mostly cook from scratch, and then am very extatic if something actually does deliver
I think Marior sandwiches in our area aren't the best, for what they cost, seriously. A rip off. But I just have been exposed to fab boulanger in Pregnins town center, amazing curry sandwiches, for the same price as the above mentioned soggy ones. And the best of all, are my school cafet sandwiches. Sorry, this thread is taking a weird, happy clappy spin..
Raclette I got the other day in Migros was not so extraordinary, despite the regular price. Irregular taste, just blah.

Then Migros Roesti, too salty and greasy.
This one is going to be heresy, Orangina. Flat, too sweet and stale so fast, like as if school kids forgot it on their cafet desk for a week. And, Rivella, while we are at it. So no crisp and fresh, I don't get the hype, the weird aftertaste still wigs me out.
Jaysus, all this sudden nagging...
I am also not big on cervelas and shubligs, since that's all one can get here. Oversmoked and too salty. Coming from a lang of hotdogs, charcouterie and klobasas, I was really bummed out when I first moved here. Turning to cheese and chocolate kinda fixed it, but still miss a proper sausage.

I called my local pizza place and asked if they deliver.
They said they only do pizzas and don't have any offal on the menu... | The following 3 users would like to thank for this useful post:

A dab of salad cream and either of them would be edible. |

Only Home food? Because the first thing that came into mind was McDonald. It never looks even close of what it looks like on the pictures...
Try Barilla sauce. They are super good and I use them in a lot of recipes. I use them for my spaghetti sauce instead to plain tomato sauce. It has already have lots of spices and I don't have to had more when no having much time...

Oh! Forgot that one: when we moved to Basel, we went to a pizza place and ordered the Olive & Basilico Pizza.
When the pizza arrived, we both were looking at it in disbelief.... Only one single olive was in the middle of the pizza. When we asked the cook what it was all about, he told us it was the Olive & Basilico pizza...
We taught it was a joke and we saw the bill.... Never been there again.

After an 'Asian-stirfy' frozen pack, which just did not do it for me today, I am continuing to be sold on just making every thing myself.

Those cakes and desserts sold on the cold shelves of Coop and Migros - too much whipped cream and way too sweet without much flavour. Yech.
But a pleasant surprise is the honey Markt Magenbrot sold in a pink plastic bag in Coop - look out for 50% off a few days before the expiry date, still tastes very good like a souped-up Lebkuchen.

Migros tubs of lovely-looking fresh fruit Bircher Muesli - why of why, do they put sugar in it, it's full of fresh fruit no need to ruin the flavour | The following 2 users would like to thank for this useful post:

All cakes that just taste like the colour, not the flavour.
Chocolate cakes that just taste brown, strawberry stuff that tastes of generic pinkness and frozen fish that is goop in a bag
