Does anyone know where I can order a turkey for Thanksgiving next week? I live in Collonge-Bellerive area, closer to Cologny. I will have around 6 adults and 5 children so we would like a bigger size bird, but do not know if that is even possible here.

I ordered mine from the butcher in Manor (Vevey). Not sure if there is a Manor near you. He said it would be 10 kilos...hopefully it will fit in the oven! Good luck!

You'll find a very large Manor (Placette) in town near the station, rue de Cornavin. They should have butterball turkeys

I might be a bit late but go direct to the farm, there are quite a few very near you:

Ferme de Compoix, ROute de Compoix (only opens to public Wednesday afternoons), but you would need to pre-order. I know they sometimes do meat but not always.

Ferme de Merlinge in Meinier/Gy, opens Saturdays and some week days,again not sure about poultry.

I know that last year I got a fabulous turkey (organic) for Xmas from a farm in Choulex, but I was driven there by a neighbour and cannot remember the name, but Choulex is not very big.

La Halle de Geneve, Rive, in the town centre, is your surest bet for top quality meat (be prepared to pay the price), this food hall is absolutely brilliant and worth the visit anyway!

There is a very good butcher in Puplinge (on the main square) and in my view, the best butcher in the whole region is Icart in Saint-Cergues, over the border in France (after Machilly), but do remember that the turkey season here does not really start before December.

I assume you have already tried Manor in Vesenaz, very near you?

Must say they've got a fine selection, though from the size of 'em you'd need to invite all your relatives and friends and then some

Ooh, didn't know we export turkeys to CH, wow. I was in GE today, madness, really, Manor sucked.

If you cannot find turkeys, I know the famous Ste. Croix chicken farm does over 5-6kilos chickens.
