I think the next thread is going to have to be
"the Best steak I ever has was..."
In the Azores at the cattle market restaurant, loaded with garlic and a bit of piri piri. Even living in Argentina I can say that was the best steak I've ever had.

No he doesn't own chihuahuas.
Do they actually have lots of Chihuahuas in Chihuahua?

Lightning and mortar type of make-up have pretty much the same effect as Photoshop in television. May I remind you of the effect RTL had a couple of weeks ago on Dieter Bohlen?

I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that this woman is not

a) wearing enough make-up to build a house
b) has been photoshoped to death
c) will melt because of the excess of high light
d) has been under the knife a couple of times

I have nothing against her, plastic surgery or Photoshop use. I just don't find it fair to compare these two women to make a point vegan versus omnivore.
I read a mini-biography on Nigella a while back and she said that her mother was very obsessed with her looks. He mother was very beautiful (they had a photo of her) and she looks just like her mother. It's all in the genes in her case, she is just naturally beautiful. I do agree however that it's not correct comparing these two women re. vegan vs omnivore.

Technically Nigella is 49 here. Bring on the meat
Some people are just better looking than others. I think even if both had the same diet Nigella would still be prettier.

We went to a restaurant in Colmar where I had the best fillet steak I've ever tasted. It was served with a big chunk of bone marrow on top and with a rich, dark, red wine sauce...

Oh God I feel hungry now..
Where's that picture about being useless without pictures????

At any rate... do you recall the name of said restaurant?

Cause we are talking about real steaks and not ones made out of tofu.

That is not nice. I should still have received an invite. I would have quietly grilled my tofu in one corner using my Bic lighter.

I dunno... awesome steak is awesome.

On the other hand, some firm tofu fried up in some garlic, sesame oil, spring onions and a dash of soy sauce is pretty good too. Goes well with kimchee and rice.

Re: How do you like your steak

I'm also in the "chop off its horns, wipe its bum, point out the fire on the way through the kitchen" camp. A good steak is not hard to cut when rare.

Of course, if it's a bad steak, then it's irrelevant how you cook it ... and it may be safer to overcook rather than properly cook it.

So, we should take a pair of identical twins, and split their diet from birth? One 100% vegan, other "100%" omnivore?

Sometimes I try to tell vegetarians that they're killing living creatures, and that plants have feelings, and they're factory farmed, and the young are separated from their parents at an early age, and that they eat fetuses....

but they just don't believe me...

Yeah, I know ... 'cause we'd have to control for the mother's diet too, to take out gestational influences as well.

Re: How do you like your steak

Back in London there is a great steakhouse called 'The Hawksmoor' if anyone ever wants to eat the best steak in London - try it.

I however haven't heard of anywhere in Zurich that offers quite the same quality of meat as I enjoyed in London.

God I miss The Ginger Pig / ELS.Co.

So where is the best place to get a 1.2kg Porterhouse in Zurich??
