Our blended could do that too in one minute. Our blender is about thirty years old and wasn't new when we got it.

Our blender cost: 0 CHF.

Your Thermomix: 1200 CHF.

Are you a rep for Thermomix or are you trying to justify that you spend 1200 CHF on a kitchen gadget that most of us think is a bit of a waste of money?

And, you still need to wash and prepare the fruit and veg and clean the blender afterwards - both tasks which take longer than the amazing 1 minute that it takes to make the juice.

Re: Thermomix..

I think unless you have one of these, you wouldn't really appreciate the time and effort saved. My wife even says we're using up more leftover food (that might have gone to waste) and saving on things like mayonaise and yoghurt, for example.
BTW, cleaning is dead easy; whack in some hot water, add a bit of detergent, a few seconds at top speed, rinse it out and you're ready to to go again.

Re: Thermomix..

I have to admit that I really don't see the advantage to this machine at all.

As Mathnut said earlier you can have several things on the go at the same time rather than having to do things sequentially.
I actually quite like the idea of preparing an cooking things myself rather than doing it all in a machine.

Re: Thermomix..

I know of a few Swiss who swear by this machine.

If you don't want it, then don't buy it. If you don't mind the investment, then go for it.

Re: Thermomix..

Surely the the greatest advantage it has is how well it chops things, that saves a load of time. I think you can't really judge it until you've used or owned one. There's a good reason why many of the top restaurants have several of them in their kitchens.

I think the key word here is several.

I bet they're not making garlic puree and then chocolate mousse in the same one!

We often make sweet followed by savoury, or vice-versa. I've yet to notice any flavour carry over.

And vassilych, much as we do appreciate your enthusiasm for your machine (as I do ours), I really think you should do as roegner suggests and start a thread in commercial if you want to promote it.

If I wrоte here that I do not want to sell, it would not be true. I just want to write that I keep topic not only to sell, but also to share with others what Thermomix is.
Myself, I leaned about this machine 6 month ago, but the company existed already for 40 years. And now I think that it would have been great to know about this machine much earlier. It is not cheap. But the one I have I decided to buy immediately )) the first time I saw it. Of course I browsed Internet and YouTube, and read about it. And till now I am asking myself: why nobody told me about Thermomix before?
People discuss smart phones, cars... to share info with others. Why not Thermomix?
I do not put my contact details in every post and do not push people to buy.

Re: Thermomix..

Well I find it a bit strange that a vacuum cleaner manufacturer would want to sell food processors
I had an ad today from a woman wanting to sell her three month old TM5 and I quote: "…once you have gotten used to a Thermomix you will simply not want to part with it…" It would seem that her irony circuits shorted when she placed the ad.

Oh by the way I was looking today for the Thermomix meat-wolf option and of course the grain mill, have them on my cheap Chinese Bosch knockoff.

That's like the "Running machine for sale" threads on here which state:

Fantastic running machine, the best in it's class. Really works well. Two years old. Only used once.

However, get yourself a high powered blender, good quality food processor and a good quality rice cooker
You have a lot of storage space or very large worktops?

Re: Thermomix

I got mine few weeks ago and I love it. I'm a great cook by the way but I need a robot and I hate to clean 10 pots and spoons and pans and cutters, etc.

I can now make my own bread without any effort. I can do everything in one single pot.

Once you know how to use the machine, you can do all of your own recipes with it.
