Nobody eats that nasty shxt in the USA, that's why the KFC's in the States are suffering/closing down and looking elsewhere to make money.
There is chic fil a and tons of other affordable places to eat without eating hormone infused chicken. There's no shortage of choices in the States. You can eat good healthy food or shxt, it's your choice.

. | | | | | Chicken rearing is much stricter in Switzerland and in the EU compared with the U.S. so you won't be getting the same 'shxt' filled with hormones as you do back home.
I can't believe I'm defending KFC...

KFC claims they don't freeze their chickens, but I wonder how they manage to make it seem like frozen chicken.

I can't believe I'm defending KFC... | | | | | Yes, I can't believe you're defending KFC either. & anyway, it's still nasty food, hormones or not. just as well if they don't make it in the states, one less place for an already fat society to eat shxt. My family & my circle of friends wouldn't eat it.
& as these kinds of places pop up in CH, you will see the waistlines expand there as well.

I'm sure the novelty will wear off once you have to pay 25 francs or more for a two piece meal.... better off making your own son

| | | Quote: | | | | | According to Blick this morning is Kentucky Fried Chicken looking for locations in German speaking Switzerland to open their first restaurants in over a decade. (They had two or so in Western Switzerland which weren't successful a long wile back).
That will be great news for Lib! Oh, wait...
Bahnhofplatz in Zürich is NOT in "Western Switzerland" | Quote: | | | | | That's hardly going to work here is it?
Food is much spicier in the U.K. than here at the moment anyway.
I had a kebab here the other day which was the blandest I've ever had.
They bought over a pot of 'extra hot' chili sauce. I think they must have bought over the ketchup instead.
Food in the UK until the arrival of the Indians lacked spices totally

| | | | | That's not true at all - the spice trade existed long before that and there's written evidence of spices being used in medieval times.
Many were grown locally - the main U.K. source of saffron, for example was Essex with the town Saffron-Walden named after it's industry.
The Phoenicians introduced Saffron to the U.K. originally from Syria in exchange for tin.
Indian spices were also incorporated (not always successfully) into English dishes by British on their return home from Indian, long before Indians themselves settled in England.
In contrast, riz Casimir was invented by Movenpick in Switzerland in 1952 - unfortunately.

Most spices couldn't be grown in the U.K. because of the climate so we had to rely on the spice trade to provide them.

I would personally prefer Migros' chickeria, which is already mentioned twice in this thread. They have several shops at eastern side and a new one at Oerlikon

I can take/leave KFC generally but I do like their onion rings.
Is it wrong to be craving fast food - any fast food - at 11.20 ish on a Wednesday morning? It must be the lack of availability - I rarely touch the stuff in the UK.

Did anyone else catch Channel 4's programme on the restaurant trade last night? With the Nando's meal containing more calories and sugar than the KFC one?
I am still a KFC virgin - and the in the 2 times I visited Nandos (on the insistence of a muslim colleague) I found the food to be a tad disappointing.
An SA colleague used to bring back chilli sauce from a chicken restaurant in Johannesburg that was the absolute best - bloody hot though!!

It was quite a long time ago - the car was an Austin 1100!

I think some of you are missing out on El Pollo Loco, if you only knew.
As for real fried chicken in the south, hole in the wall soul food restaurants make KFC seem like rehydrated frozen chicken in comparison.
Nando's marinade is pretty damn good though.
