KFC in Shoppyland, nice - though I'll believe it when I see it. Shoppyland is just far enough away from Bern to make it not very convenient unless you have a car. Still I'll make the trip if they open
There are 4 trains an hour to Shoppyland car park. 3 zone ticket.

Re: KFC in Switzerland?

Has anyone who lives in Geneva seen the KFC shop which is due to open next Tuesday? (5th December 2017)
I cannot find any adverts on Google - Grand openings, menus, prices or anything.
Perhaps they do not want too many customers until their staff get up to speed.
I went to Singen in Germany on their opening day and it was mayhem 😥

Think I will wait for a first hand report before making the trek with my GA from Brugg.

Planned to open next month near Geneva Main station according to 20min, Source (German language).

Although the chickens come from Holland the menu price will still be double the Germany prices!

They claim you will be able to have unlimited free drink refills!

I think it is going to be in the small arcade under the Warwick hotel ie across from Cornavin CFF station. I was walking back up the rue des alpes towards the station when I saw the sign. (It was well hidden)

Re: KFC in Switzerland?

According to 20 Minutes (Fr) https://www.tdg.ch/economie/entrepri...story/11803903

It will be located at the "Centre Commerciale des Cygnes" next to Cornavin. as stated by bowlie

They hope to open a further 3 - 5 in 2018 with Lausanne being their next target. They hope to have 50+ chains "in the next few years"

Their main competitor will be MIGROS who have opened 13 Chickeria's across the Sarine...hence why they will try and establish themselves in Romandie firstly.

KFC chicken meat will come from Holland - Chickeria (MIGROS) will market their meat as Swiss as their selling point.

Happy St Andrew's day to all!

Re: KFC in Switzerland?

Yeah - This is old news. Just look a little bit further back in the thread. (was in all the newspapers on the 13th November)

I was looking for specific info on Geneva which is planned for opening on Tuesday.

Where did you get the information that it will open on Tuesday in the first place? I can't find anything about that either.
And isn't it rather unlikely for an American company to keep such a thing secret?

Re: KFC in Switzerland?

Look at the link on post 354 by marton. Also in 3 other newspapers like the Blick which I read.
Here is a quote
My left eye is still working :-)
Sorry - I should provide a translation
Poultry production is booming and demand for chicken is booming. Chicken is also becoming increasingly popular in the fast food sector: "We have a lot of inquiries from Switzerland about when KFC finally comes on the market," says Marco Schepers (42). According to the Swiss head of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), the time has now come.
On 5 December, the first fast-food restaurant will open on Geneva's Les Rue des Alpes at the Center Les Cygnes opposite the Cornavin train station. According to Schepers, the KFC operator, a Swiss company, is prepared to open further locations in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.

NOt really across the street more like kitty-corner. Not really convenient to grab something before your train. (And your train mates would probably shoot you.)

Re: KFC in Switzerland?

Hence my question.
I am wondering if they will open with a bang - or maybe cheap chicken and try and undercut Migros.
I have been following this story since 1998 in Switzerland, so I am more than a little bit interested.
My main question is - will they sell chicken gravy?

I see. So you need a Genevan to go check it out. There are enough of those on here. Folks, do the Argovian the favour?

Not being able to find anything about it, I think it's not happening

Re: KFC in Switzerland?

Thanks for all the lack of help.
Just finished my first 3 pieces of swiss kfc with chicken sauce in Switzerland.
Waited ages for this.
Took a chance this morning and got the train down via Aarau.
The kfc entrance is less than 80 metres from the front of the bahnhof. Next to the trams. Perfect location

Maybe we can close the thread now.
I did not get the menu. And it cost less than 12 chf for 3 breasts and sauce with no mashed potatoes. The extras look expensive.
Very efficient and well cooked. Delicious.
Do not queue. The ignorant gits here just barge in. After 30 minutes I decided to play their game.

Re: KFC in Switzerland?

Coleslaw is 3.90. They only had the hot wings in the numbers above
There is a hot wings box menu for 19.90 - I cannot read the details - but it looks like there are 9 bits on the photo

Fillet bites - 3 = 4.50 CHF 6 = 8.90 CHF (1 dip) 9 = 11.90 (2 dips) 16 = 19.90 (3 dips)
(looks like 3 is a bit dry)
Double Crunch Burger is 5.90 (0.80 extra for cheese)
Fillet Burger is 6.90 (same for cheese)
Zinger Burger 6.90 (same for cheese)
B.O.S.S Burger is 8.90 (same for cheese)
Mais is 2.90

That means .... nothing really. Except the meat was on chicken bones at one time.
