Also if they keep it "special", they keep up the interest? ("I'd walk a mile for a Camel", LOL). McDonalds is everywhere. Is there a thead here about it? | | | | | Oh didn't know they failed in switzerland before. | Quote: | | | | | I understand someone driving from Baden to Volketswil for it. If it feels like home or brings up memories, one does all kinds of stuff and it's only 40 minutes - I often drive further just to have dinner with friends. | | | | | Can't agree more! |

Tom | | | | | Back in the 80s they had a problem called Pat Grace, a very helpful Irishman. So helpful that he helped 'The Colonel' with some receipt changes for free. Now the poor Colonel, did not understand the saying: there is no such thing as a free lunch, until Pat explained it to him.
Most of the 80s were spent in legal battles with Pat, as he got injunctions preventing them for doing this and that... eventually 'The Colonel' realised that the lunch was not so expensive after all and paid up.

The trouble is, he's only seven and he eats sushi in quantities like he's wolfing down a burger with extra-large fries.
I'm not trying to show off but I really think times have changed.

As usual the 20 minute readers' comments are revealing.
Translated (by Google), regarding the new Airport KFC: | Quote: | | | | Not necessary, we already have everything we need at the airport. Thanks anyway! | | | | | | Quote: | | | | The store will certainly run well due to the international patronage. I also force myself into this institution about once a year. Afterwards I can enjoy good food again and appreciate my privilege.
Whether Americans or from Asia, visitors are always delighted with our food. I'm not talking about Gourmet, but the bistro on the corner or the Migros Pizza takeaway. The quality of the food is unique in this country, and you are happy to pay more. | | | | | I've seen these sentiments repeated on this forum - 'There are enough restaurants already and they are so great anyway that nothing needs to change.'

The airport seems to be dominated by restaurants and coffee shops, and they're just about to open a Pret there, too.

If they could open one at the Basel airport however, they might be on to something. Basel airport is pretty much scorched earth these days if you're not into overpriced croissants.

The pile-em-in-then-get-em-out snacky type restaurants seem to be the main money spinner in most airports. Most people are rushing through so are drawn to a quick solution for food. | Quote: | | | | | KFC is hardly a restaurant.
