Anyone shopped at Jim's?

A work colleage passed on details of Jim's British Market in Gland to my husband. Evidently he has proper British sausages and bacon as well as other Brit goodies. We haven't been there yet, having only just got the info, but wondered if anyone else had found/used him?

His main store is just over the border from Geneva in France, but I gather he's had the shop in Gland for a few years now as well.

Website is: www.jims-british-market.com

Re: Anyone shopped at Jim's?

Jim's the shop is an institution locally.. as well as Jim the person.

mrs. and I have been shopping at his St.Genis shop for years but we've not made it to Gland yet.

EDIT... the shop in Gland has in fact only been open a few weeks ( couple of months? ) now... I gather it's quite tiny and doesn't have all the stock that st. genis does.

Re: Anyone shopped at Jim's?

Heard about Jim's in the past, but of little interest as I'm in Ostschweiz and his shop was in France. But the new one in Gland could be good... What are the CHF prices like, can anyone comment when they've been to the Glan shop?

Re: Anyone shopped at Jim's?

Have been to Gland shop a couple of times now. They stock all items sold by on-line expat traders and big plus is the freezer section , bacon and Walls/Richmond sausages ( 12 chfs bag of 16), battered fish , pukka pies.......all the healthy stuff we miss !!! Also large section of asian spices , sauces , condiments , cadburys chocolates and of course that elusive brown sugar and SR flour . Oh and large section of soft drinks ...irn bru , ginger beer and sugar free squashes. Prices on par or cheaper than similar/same items sold in coop. Very friendly staff , they are trying to see what will sell here and ask for suggestions etc . Highly recommended......just don't take the kids !!!
