I can vouch for that. The cheese was excellent!

This Cindys Diner place looks good... can't wait until they appear somewhere around Zurich that's accessible with public transport!
my guess is that it will be in about two years in Oerlikon in the places below the station, now under construction

Is this pure speculation or insider information?

The burger at the Tina Bar in Niederdorf is very good. They only serve shoestring fries with it but the burger patty itself was made from excellent quality beef

I went to this 'tina' burger place last night.

The burger the guy started cooking had already been cooked and sat there on the edge of the grill area christ knows how long.

I think I have food poisoning.

Worth a try.

Had the same experience

I also tried Korner and its quite good - although beware the BBQ sauce, its not at all the thinnish sauce we expect from the US.

Also had a good burger at Fork&Bottle - although its more of an artsy foodie burger. Helvti remains my favorite for the straight up unabashedly unhealthy drippy burger goodness I seek

Re: Burger in Zurich

I'd also mention the burger at the Park Hyatt is amongt the best in the "high end" category. It's the only one I've had here that managed to avoid overcooking it...

Re: Burger in Zurich

The Lion pub has expensive but great burger and fries. Close to Franz Karl Weber toy store on bahnofstrasse.

http://www.cafe-z.ch/menues.html

Cafe Z is cateen style place for workers at the Park Hyatt. They do burgers once a week. Not a bad burger, fries are great. Also, this place has ice and tap water and salad bar and lots of freebie condiments. In summer weather they do a Friday bbq which is great, sit outside.

Re: Burger in Zurich

My colleagues and I recently started checking our various burger joints in Zurich region.

So far, we checked out:
  • Potbelly's in Adliswil: good burgers, and they have some really spicy ones.
  • Cindy's dinner: good burgers, slightly worse than the ones in Potbelly's. I prefer their fries, though.
  • to be expanded

We also considered going to Goodman's, but it's pricey, so we went to a Serbian fast food place in Badenerstrasse (450+ number, I think). Really good food, and pljeskavica (serbian variant of burger) is delicious.

So far, unfortunately, nothing compares with burgers from The Great Escape in Lausanne. Goodman is expensive, and I don't see how it can top Churrasco in Lausanne that offers amazing burger (360gr of meat) for the same price.

One of the best burgers I have tasted and certainly the best I have tasted here.

http://www.helvti-diner.ch/

Get blue cheese on it.
God to know, because always when I'm passing by this place I'm telling myself that I should go there

Re: Burger in Zurich

Not sure if you guys have heard of it, but yelp.ch is a great website for reviewing restaurants and other businesses! I use it all the time and reviews are being posted in German and English you can post your photos and read what people recommend, how the atmosphere is, prices, hours location and all that That is where I have been talking about the burgers I have been trying!

I've use it for Zurich, and each time I did, the info was out dated. Just my personal experience.

Heard about yelp, and heard not so nice stories about their business, esp. in the States. Most notably about gaming the rankings and extorting gifts from small shop ownera.

Hence, prefer to find and add content to EF, much more pleasent place to be.

Re: Burger in Zurich

We use tripadvisor.com for reviews a lot of the time. We came to Zurich via Singapore, Hong Kong, Hawaii and LA so we relied heavily on that and the reviews that pop up when you search google maps near you for restaurants. I was looking at food near BH Enge last night and some have no info yet in google but others have at least a handful of recent reviews.

Re: Burger in Zurich

IMO top six places.

-Park Hyatt
-Clouds bistro
-korner
-Hiedi & Tell (fast casual style makes it higher on my list)
-Fork & Bottle
-Helveti Diner

Now that I have a BBQ I make my own. Tough to fine good quality buns tho.

Now thats a topic to start, where is a good bakery with best bread/rolls in Zurich?

Helvti Diner doesn't cut it IMO...small portions and insane prices.

Fork & Bottle does its own buns, maybe you can buy some from them.

Re: Burger in Zurich

We went to Stars and Stripes last night. A bit out of the way for some of you but we live in Birmensdorf so it is really close.

The chicken wings were nothing special and over priced. I prefer my frozen ones I buy from denner. However my texas burger was fantastic and the chips (fries as seppos call them) were also really good. Service was really friendly and our meals were on the table mighty quick. I would make a reservation as the place was very busy.

Man what a burger, my mouth is watering right now...

Re: Burger in Zurich

The St Joseph pub on Heinrickstrasse in Zurich (behind the viadukt) does an excellent homemade burger, can't remember the price but for the quality it was excellent value.
