a good home chef wanted for dinner party

Anyone know of someone who is willing to come and cook a three course meal and possibly serve at a dinner party for eight people at our home? My husband has a special birthday coming up very soon so we would like it to be really good and no hassle so we can really enjoy the special night.

We are open to the kind of food and dishes.

We live near Richterswil, ZH

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.

He lives in Basel, around 2 hours to drive as we are the other side of Zürich so I think would be too far for this one job. Thanks though for your suggestion.

Re: a good home chef wanted for dinner party

I've only tried their Bento sometimes (not recently), but Washoku from Stallikon also offered this.
It's Japanese kitchen then.
Their website is sort-of down currently, so I'd suggest calling them directly and ask if they still offer this service.

The word you are looking for, BTW, is "Störkoch".

There are quite some hits on google for that in and around Zurich.

I am a bit far away for references but I suggest you have a look here:

If you google "Störkoch", you should find more.

Hey there Swissmaid7. My name is Greg and I have been a chef for over 11 years with plenty of restaurant experience in London and across Europe. I am based in Zurich and could be very capable of making a great meal for you and your husband. If you still have an interest in a chef cooking a special meal for you then you can contact me via a message or a phone call on 0763 884017.
Cheers
Greg

I know Jack well, & private chefs don't come much better than him.
He used to be a regular contributor on the food forum here as well.

Re: a good home chef wanted for dinner party

Dear all,

Thanks for your replies both on the forum and for some personal messages as well.

Quite a few non-professional chefs offered their services for the night.
Many thanks!! However, as it's for a special birthday we would like to be 100% sure that everything would be really good so we are really looking for someone with an established business who has done this kind of work before and who has tried and tested recipes and menus to offer.

I have contacted the three professional businesses last week that were mentioned towards the end of this thread but have not heard anything back from them so can only presume they have got enough work on at the moment. Seems weird to have no reply at all though, not even a no!

Thanks once again,

Re: a good home chef wanted for dinner party

We've done something similar in the past where we have just asked a chef from a local restaurant to cater at home for us. We had to be a bit flexible about the day, but at least we knew in advance that we would like to food as we had tried it in the restaurant. If you have a favorite local restaurant its worth just asking the chef if he is interested.

Re: a good home chef wanted for dinner party

I have a friend, Ines Riesco, who does this professionally:

I think her website is in German, but you can write her in English and tell her Michelle from Basel referred you.
