Re: COOP Stickers

How do you buy airmiles with Coop stickers? It's the first time I hear about it.

Re: COOP Stickers

Just a side note: the left over items Coop isn't able to sell with the stickers, they will often sell them at a huge discount price. For example: 2 years ago in the summer was the Paddington Bear series... plush bears, DVDs, cups, etc. I was able to purchase the whole DVD series (without having collected any stickers at all) the next spring for 5chf.

It is listed on the collectors card for every series... you have the option to purchase something from the series or put the stickers towards air miles

I always wanted one of those 4-wheeled suitcases that is easy to push around on flat ground. Last week, using COOP stickers collected from friends, I got a set of 2 suitcases (including a smaller carry on 4wheeler) with price reduced to CHF79 from what seemed as CHF300+ that the cashier punched in as the original price. This was further reduced to CHF33 after the cashier found out I have CHF36 worth of points on my Coop Supercard. Got the suitcases, will travel.. *logs in to the airmiles rewards website*
Is there a way to see how many points you have on your Coop card?

There are electronic terminals in the big Co-op stores e.g. at Co-op St. Annahof at Rennweg (right by the main entrance) or the big Co-op found between Zurich HB and Central (near the beverages section). You just need to put your Co-op card in them and you will be able to see the number of points you have.

You can also see it on the receipt after you have puchased something with your card. Like: 10 new points added, total is now 1210 points.

Re: COOP Stickers

Thought I would pick up this tread since coop have started again with the offers...this time for Fissler Kitchen wear...

Anyone know whether this a deal..? As I have searched on the internet and cannot find any of the pots or pans which look the same as advertised...and therefore cannot get a price reference..the wok on ebay is about 80 Euros. Is this an old range or just stuff which couldn't be sold normally..

Re: COOP Stickers

For a full card (of the pots and pans stickers), you get 2000 Swiss miles for 35 CHF. If you wanted to just BUY 2000 miles, it would cost 60 Euro, so like 70 CHF. Basically, you get the miles for half-price.

Does anybody know if the air miles are worth buying? I only found out recently you could use the stickers to buy these too.

Re: COOP Stickers

The stickers best use is to convert a full booklet of them to 2000 Miles & More Miles for a reduced price of CHF 34.90 instead of CHF 72 which can be a good deal if you're looking to top of your account. Coop Superpoints IMHO are also best used by transfering them to Miles & More at a 2:1 ratio.

Re: COOP Stickers

buying miles is only ever worth it to top of your account. outright buying of miles can be useful if you have no miles at all, but US Airways miles are much cheaper than M&M especially since US has frequent 100% bonus mile promotions on purchased miles. Keep in mind though that actually puting those miles to good use can get tricky if you can't find award availability.

Fissler may be a very good Swiss brand but none of the pans on offer at Co-op are in Fissler's current product line-up which suggests that the Co-op one's are a lower-quality special.

Re: COOP Stickers

I collected enough points to acquire the complete set of knives that were featured earlier (thanks to a very nice old Swiss lady who gave several completed sheets one day when I was shopping at the COOP). They are at the lower end of acceptable - the weight and heft are fine, but the blades require frequent sharpening (although that's true of all my knives, including the Sabatiers), but there again I am never happy with the sharpness of my knives (although Mrs TD says they are plenty sharp...).

I obtained the 24cm Fissler pan and it is very acceptable, the rest of the offered range doesn't appeal - although I may get the non-stick frying pan with the metal handle (great for sticking under a grill to finish of your frittata).

Bottom line? Carefully examine the offered items and see if they meet your requirements/needs. Some do, most don't

Re: COOP Stickers

I also once got the knifes. If I would have tried to keep the knife sharp my sharpening stone would have been vanished by now.

Couldnt agree more with you. I got the pressure cooker and its nice and even cheaper than if you would get it in Germany (which is not always the case with those promotions)
