Maybe because we still don't know how to pronounce the name as it's not written in Latin letters so that we can buy it (where?) and taste it?

My favorite is Sweet Baby Ray's, which I've seen on occasion over the border in Germany - anything else just isn't worth the cost to me, especially since I found a recipe I like to make my own.
Mind my asking where you bought the sauce in Germany? I have been looking for it here without luck. Amazon.de sells it, but does not deliver here and I would like an easier option than a "lieferadresse".

The only thing i dont like about Rays is that apparently they use the cheapest ingredients available (hence their low price) and the use of tons of preservatives in the sauce

With latin lettters it is called Satsebeli:

http://www.russiantable.com/store/pr...d=34&pf_id=319

You can buy it at Russian Shop in Bern (Thunstrasse 107) and in several shops in Geneva: Plainpalais, Ashanti, Pam Meyrin, Pam Servette.

Re: Best Bottled Barbecue Sauce?

Best thread I could find to solicit some local help in tracking down a pretty decent bottle of BBQ sauce I picked up from someplace...For the life of me, haven't been able to come across it again

Any one seen this before?

There is a store of jerk sauce, that purportedly takes some beating, and it's stored in Gland.

Excellent.

You can't buy it - but the recipe from "Tupelo Honey Cafe" (Asheville) is superb

Sorry, I'm unsure why I never noticed this before, so answer is long delayed:

At the time, I'd found the Sweet Baby Ray's in either REWE or Hieber. More recently I've found it in City Coop at the bargain (seriously!) price of 2.50chf.

Meantime, Coop now has some other sauces in their premium line (Coop Fine Food) that is Hot Chipotle and is something hubby really likes. This sauce has a bit of a kick and some sweetness, not so sweet as some.

I like tangier sauces though, so when I have time, I still make the one from scratch that I provided recipe for earlier in this thread.

Re: Best Bottled Barbecue Sauce?

I've made a few of my own, but also like Sweet Baby Ray's and have found a couple recipes on line to make it, so will try that sometime soon.
