Garden is happening!

Enough okra for a shrimp gumbo tomorrow!

Alas, we'll have to do fried-green-tomatoes on Sunday, as we don't have many red at the moment.

Re: Garden is happening!

I have a garden here in Spain! Avocados, Lemons, Figs, Oranges, and Almonds..... Both Tom and Carrie are more than welcome to come on out

I keep forgetting Tom lives in Lugano. I was like "How did this guy have a decent garden?"

Welcom back, Zuger!

Actually, I'm in your garden right now... sniffing your figs.

I live on the 5th floor, but 800m away is my work, with about 1/2 hectare of free land, of which I occupy 100 or 200 m2 (depending on my mood)!

I also have another 100m2 above Sementina, prime south-facing terrace that my friends are too lazy to work themselves.

Yes, and they smell good too!

I'll send you an email. I don't want to hijack Tom's thread or he'll beat me with the newspaper again.

Re: Garden is happening!

Thats not a bad deal! I had a plot of land at my office in CH, but the neighbors all voted down the idea of my garden. They thought it would attract too many Rey's.... There is a famine this year in the US, so its not a bad idea to grow as much as you can! In the next 4 months there will be problems for food in Switzerland.

Yes, I'm an atheist Muslim/Catholic/Buddhist.

I've got to have all my bases covered in case one of them is right.

No, but I do have a motorcycle with a (legally declared) top speed of 270 kph, which is probably fater than most small planes!

Tom

P.S. However, I have dropped the rear from 36T to 43T, so current top speed is only around 245.

Nah, rarely do highways, less than 10% of total km, and usually only in Italy, though I should change the gearing to stock and do some high-speed runs up north of the border!

I'm the guy that screams past buses in the Alps going uphill on narrow roads, and make Lotus Super 7s look like they're standing still!

All of my tomatoes were green until a few days ago - now they're all ripe at the same time and I have so many I don't know what to do with them!

Well, I did start the seeds a little late this year, but the cousins' near Luino are still green as well!

Another is turning red as we speak, and I will be picking some chiles for tonight's dinner, maybe some eggplant too.

I seem to recall saying that would happen a while back.. We have quite a lot of ripe figs at the moment and absolutely tons of plums of various types.
