Horlicks equivalent ..

I'm missing Horlicks and unfortunately pregnancy is making me crave it. I'm just sipping my last sachet. Where can I get a Horlicks equivalent? I love that malty taste.

I know britshop sells it but at 9 chf a tub it's very pricey.

Re: Horlicks equivalent ..

Ovomaltine is a chocolate malt drink, similar to, but not the same as Horlicks,
It also costs +/- 10 chufs for 500g, so is not cheaper than Horlicks from Britshop (+ P&P - unless their free offer is still going?).

You may want to check out supermarket own brand equivalent Ovo-type drinks, and possibly Suchard Express - they will be marginally cheaper, but will still be more like Ovo than Horlicks.

Hey! I too am a horlicks lover (lol) try heliomalt maybe at a pharmacy if not on the supermarket. I was given a small sample of it in the hospital box given after you've given birth. It was more like horlicks than ovalmaltine... Good Luck.... Ps maybe your special someone might treat you being that you're pregnant it is a special occasion!

Re: Horlicks equivalent ..

I have bought Horlicks from the Indian grocery store Aggarwal:

Aggarwal Indian Food

Langstrasse 62,
8004 Zürich
Helvetiaplatz
Tel: 044 241 2879

You might also try the Chinese/Vietnamese grocery stores.

Hope this helps.
