Hello All

Just wondering if anyone knows of a place here in Zurich you can find a Christmas Ham/Gammon? It's for baking, either bone in, bone out not fussy really. Or would I have better luck going up to Germany or France? If you could pass on your recommendation I would appreciate it.

Coop are selling them at half price or so at the moment (well, the one at Central was yesterday)... or you could try Colin the butcher at Jelmoli

try talking with your local butcher, you'll be surprised at how accomodating they can be.... mine now does a roaring trade in baby back ribs, thanks to a colleague & I asking for them.

Look in Migros or Coop for a so called ROLLSCHINKLI this is cured and salted ham,and very good quality.
Also like Polorise already mentioned you can talk to your butcher,an entire hindleg (with bone) of a Pork is called HAMME.

A swiss speciality ( and former tradtitional x-mouse meal) would be to wrap this in Breaddough,if you want the recipe PM me
