Heads up: chestnut spread

This is just for people like me, who, coming from countries where hot chestnuts (heisse marroni(spelt?)) are not as common anymore don't know this.

At the stalls selling hot chestnuts at this time of year, you can also buy jars of spread. A lot like jam/jelly. Not sure what the kinky Swiss do with it but it's delicious on bread. Sweet but not as sweet as jam. Only problem is that it had addictive properties.

It sure is and good to know they sell it here. I had people bring it back from Ticino. Will be stocking up

Re: Heads up: chestnut spread

Well I bought mine in Ticino too, but now I'm on the lookout for it I have seen it at a heisse marroni stall in exotic Dietikon. Only ever eaten it from the Ticino place. At the rate we are consuming it I'll need a restock in a day or two.

It's also nice on a female skin

more seriously, I put it on bread, but also on cheese, or mixed with chantilly cream. Delicious.

But my fav. is hot chestnut

Re: Heads up: chestnut spread

You can (or were able to last year) buy it at Coop under the fine food label.
