Well depends on how 'strict' of a vegan one is, but each fig fruit contains at least one digested carcass.
Great fact!

Re: Vegetarians

Truly OMGWTFBBQ that one.

Honestly, I thought vegans were about not killing/using animals. But a dead animal - that's just carrion - surely that's allowed?

I've always disliked figs due to the horrid crunchy things in them. Up until now I always believed they were seeds

Re: Vegetarians

Instead of working () I've looked this up - not all figs need pollinating with wasps - so you hardcore vegans can relax (we'll skip over that oxmoron for now)... just avoid the varieties that need pollination.

From my brief research, the crunchy bit are not the carcass rather the seeds. The pollinator carcass is apparently fully digested, you're just consuming the sacrificed bug's nutrients.

That being said, if one doesn't like figs, one doesn't like figs :P

You mean just like all plants are?

Shit - where do vegans think plants come from? Magic? Someone should introduce them to the laws of conservation of matter and energy.

Oh I totally agree, I am not a vegan by any means. I eat entirely out of the reason of not feeling hungry---I essentially eat anything.

I was just pointing out that the crunchy bits in figs are not crunchy bug pieces.

Honestly, vegan docs sucked, doc marten, I mean.
Hi, I am a huge fan of Doc Martens, and I will soon need a new pair - however, lately I am trying to avoid leather, so I was thinking about buying a non-leather pair of Docs. Now, your comment is quite interesting: why do you say they sucked?? were they real Docs? can you suggest me a brand that makes boots similar to docs but non-leather and that are not so bad? thanks!

Hey,good you asked, yey, real docs, the material didn't last, they were hard to break in,and I am used to blisters from the regular docs a ok,usually..They didn't breathe well, either. Honestly, regular allstars were performing ok, rainboots with hand knitted kneehighs, etc. But, in my opinion, the process of manufacturing plastic boots isn't so eco friendly to outweigh my possible guilty conscience from wearing good leather, 10yr lasting boots. The usual trouble with substitues, short life span, you gotta get new ones quick. Then theg possiblebody absorption of cheap plastic leaking, brrrr. Who knows.
