Re: Vegetarians

Good! I am not alone here
It's interesting to know that exist other kind of " not eating meat people", but they are more ascetic like, you know, Vegans,Fruitarians-people who eat only fruits and vegetables( they say it's really healthy-you feel different, you look different) and Prana eaters(these guys don't eat at all! Onlz energy of the sun).
What do think about it?

The age old joke: How do you know who's a vegan at your dinner party?

Don't worry, they'll let you know. :P

Regardless, I'm always interested in meeting new vegans, and finding mistakes in the 'vegan' diet. Nothing against them, but I demand full commitment!

Re: Vegetarians

I been vegetarian, frutarian, raw food eater, etc..and finally vegan for a couple of years, and with the annoyingly close full commitment, ie no leather, no silk, no cosmetics containing animal products (basically no cosmetics ), until I got tired of some of the pretentious followers and ways market was ripping us, "hippies" off and figured out personally more efficient ways to be useful. Honestly, vegan docs sucked, doc marten, I mean. I miss that phase, though, sometimes. It made me aware of what we eat, ingredients, and helped my cooking and food processing skills. I never felt better than others, but I miss the routines, the hands on food approach. Besides, questioning consumerism is never a bad thing.

It's a good thing, to test one's commitment, though. The people who preach are as annoying as any other obsessive folks, but if anyone wants to test the limits and believe in higher ideals, sans the pushiness or world saving rhetorics, more power to them, I have a lot of respect for that and still keep some fabulous friends/activists to debate with. I think it gave me a lot, in terms of knowing one's limits and stamina, and somehow made me cautious of those who spell things out way too much and too loud, who calculate too much with audience. The most influential people were always the quiet, private ones.

From what's on the market in Switzerland, can't be a difficult diet to follow. There are vegetarians on the forum, for sure. It's a shame, though, not to eat the great cheese here.

Congrats on the big lifestyle change (no more pigskin for you???).

Don't forget to cut figs out of your diet (my new discovery in unacceptable products for vegans).

Re: Vegetarians

I'm not a vegetarian, but I do try to get some of my vitamin requirements from natural products.

I do particularly well with many B vits. plus potassium, magnesium and several more, by partaking of a liquid concoction made from natural ingredients, containing all of the aforementioned.

I usually find that a few doses in the evening, before bed, is beneficial.

Quite a lot in our household, but they are invariably on my plate!

(though I've nothing against carnivores)

All kidding aside, I find that I don't eat as much meat over here, mostly because it's hard to find a good cheeseburger. I've lost about 10 pounds so far on the "can't find a good cheeseburger" diet.

Shout out to anybody who can make a commitment like that and stick with it.

Well depends on how 'strict' of a vegan one is, but each fig fruit contains at least one digested carcass.
