Hi Dee
I actually, I always put it straight on the cake so I have no idea how long it would keep for... Tasted fine and the colour was no different.
I did notice that the icing seemed to go hard much quicker.. but it was a long time since I made one with glucose so I can't be 100% sure of that.

Re: Where can I find liquid glucose?

Have found this simple recipe for glucose syrup:

* 64g Glucose (in German = "Traubenzucker" from your local Reformhaus or Drogerie, eg. the brand Morga, 250g for CHF 2.50)

* 36ml Water

Boil together and pour the liquid into a measuring jug. Top up to 100ml with boiling water. Stir. Fill into a jar with screw lid. Leave to cool.

Re: Where can I find liquid glucose?

My girlfriend and I also wanted to cook a recipe from the US involving corn syrup, and the traubenzucker (we found at the apotheke!) boiled with water worked as a great substitute. thanks!

Re: Where can I find liquid glucose?

I found liquid glucose at the Migros in Kreuzplatz, Zurich. It is called Sucrisse, Flussiger Zucker.

I had been looking for it in larger stores and came across it by chance amongst the sugar section.

Maybe it can be ordered on the Migros website.

Re: Where can I find liquid glucose?

Hi,
I am thinking a trip to Basel for a few days.
I want to know if there is a shop selling cake decorating supplies?

Cookie cutters,equipments ,cupcake toppers-Wrappers etc.

Can you suggest me a shop in Basel but not online?

LOL you can round up to 65g and 35 ml - and it will still work
