Could someone help me identify this machine: Fondue? Plate-warmer?

Hello all,

I have this machine - but I don't know what it is!

Is it a fondue machine, or a plate warmer? I've plugged it in for a few seconds and it does warm up.

There is no adjustment dial which I thought fondue machines have...

If it's a fondue machine, then I assume that I can find a fondue pot for it?

Hoping someone has some ideas!
Thanks!

I would use it to make some delicious crpes (small thin pancake)

I guess that it is for crepes, not fondue

Electric "griddle." Great for making pancakes. pikelets and real eggrolls.

Thank you all!!
Recently moved here and found the machine on the street in their street clearance of bulky goods

Will have to try making crepes then!!

I had to google "pikelets" - I assume you're from Australia/NZ?

As it's a "griddle" I might have to try making Welshcakes - something I miss from back home especially given that it was St. David's Day recently

Thanks again everyone

What happened there? Out of curiosity.

It was the collection day yesterday in this part of Montreux, and a lot of people were out and about! It was in what looked like a flat clearance.

On another note, and sorry for changing the topic - why is it that they really like to cut off the plugs/cables off any electrical device? I've noticed in Jumbo/Coop Brico (that sort of store) that they sell plugs with a length of cable attached to it.

Re: Could someone help me identify this machine: Fondue? Plate-warmer?

Now you need a "spatule" for the crpe machine.

Here is what one looks like. You use it for spreading the mixture around.

Then you need to wooden spatule that will allow you to scrap up the crpe.

I will do just that. Try it on my balcony first. If it fires, I'll chuck it overboard into what's left of the snow!

Re: Could someone help me identify this machine: Fondue? Plate-warmer?

I think I owe you guys a reply!

So, I had a go, and it worked pretty sweet. I found the crpe making equipment all in one package in fact when I was looking for them - the measuring jug, spatula, ladle, and spreading tool!

The first attempts were a little funny.... so I found it easier (at the start) to do without the spreading tool and just grab the machine by the handles and tilt it (like you would do with a saucepan)... but more recently I've gotten better at it...

Took it over a friends for brunch and it was a nice social thing..

So thank you guys, for teaching me something new!

Glad to hear it worked without a problem! And to think that you picked this ups from the street not even knowing what it was!
