Re: Online grocery delivery

I also received that email for the refer a friend voucher. You'll get five 10 CHF certificates.

If you're interested, you can also PM me.

Re: Online grocery delivery

Hi, I know this thread is quite old but does anyone know or use any French or German supermarkets that deliver to Basel? Are they allowed to do this?

If so, any links to the online supermarkets?

Cheers
Nik

Re: Online grocery delivery

Hi everyone,

Considering the current situation with COVID19 and folks in self isolation, are there other online shops other than Coop, Migros, Leshop?

Most of them will take 7 days to deliver in where im from (Zug)..

Re: Online grocery delivery

There's also https://www.farmy.ch/.

Yes, with corona I think it's unlikely that you'll find an online shop that will deliver sooner than 7 or even 14 days.

If you are in self-isolation or quarantine, the alternatives are to
  • phone the local little corner stores near you, and ask whether they'd deliver for a fee if you placed an order over the phone or by mail, or
  • to see if you can find an individual match over on the Helpline thread,
  • or through one of the services recommended on that same thread.

Re: Online grocery delivery

Farmy may be an option for some, but next delivery date is 18 April in my area.

Le shop, which I've used in the past, has been totally blocked for days and sending an email only got an automatic reply. Its just not possible.

It's fine for the government to tell people to stay at home, particularly the vulnerable, but when there's no online shop alternatives for most, something's got to give.

And also to add, going to three supermarkets in person just to find fresh vegetables for example, is totally counterintuitive to staying at home and not spreading the virus.

Another back up plan to add to the above, is perhaps neighbourhood groups, we have an email group and look out and help each other for various things, even before this crisis.

Edited to add, while not a full size supermarket, Jim's British Market also delivers. They are working on a nre online platform but you can call or email them your order atm.

It's only natural that their logistics are taking strain with such a huge increase in bookings, so I totally get it that they can't deliver before a week or two from now. Yet with a small, quiet, first-world-problem little stamp-of-foot-on-floor I'd be happier if I could actually book a date further into the future, so that planning would be better.

Yes, I agree, it's going to have to be more and more help from people found online. That's quite something.

Someone posted this link earlier, in a different thread. It's a list of places in Switzerland that do food, etc. deliveries, sorted according to city/area, that someone had compiled.

Our local shops are all well stocked with pretty much no empty shelves. Sure they are small, choice is limited but they had plenty of standard fruit and veg, stocked freezers, fresh bread, milk, eggs, cheese, meats etc.. even toilet rolls.

Within 5 minutes of me : Bassins, Le Vaud, Marchissy, St George..

I was at my local shop yesterday, only two people allowed in at a time, but hey that's pretty normal, sure it's going out but but I saw a total 3 people and didn't get near them :-)
