| | Flatiron Steak equivalent
I have some recipes calling for flatiron steak. Can anyone suggest an alternative cut of beef to ask for? Thanks! (German speaking Switzerland)

I'm guessing that this might be similar Rinds-Schulter Braten (shoulder roast) since flatiron is from the shoulder area - you can order it from here for pick up

Did flat-iron steak this week, have to say one of the most tender flavourful steaks we've had in a long time, cooked it sous-vide for 7 hours at 55 then finished on a hot grill, served with baked potato and roast parsnips. | The following 6 users would like to thank Markarina for this useful post: | |

You really need a butcher that knows what they’re doing to get a flat iron steak. It’s really a cut of meat that’s not easy to replicate so I wouldn’t try to look for an equivalent.
EDIT: Just realised this thread is six years old

EDIT: Just realised this thread is six years old | | | | | It only got resurrected because I had to Google flat iron steak for a Swiss friend and this was one of the results so I thought I would post how nice it was

I have recently purchased a good piece of flat iron steak from Coop.
Never seen it there before. Very good quality!
