How is your experience with Migros www.LeShop.ch ?

I plan to start using www.le-shop.ch to buy food on a weekly basis and wonder:

1. Is it good – reliable with good quality?

2. When you shop once and log in next week to shop again – is your previous shopping list saved in order to use that as a good template next time you shop? In other word: Can you set up a weekly shopping list and modify it slightly every week - without having to click again on all the basic stuff you buy every week anyway. (save time...)

Thanks,
Swisson

1) yes but have not tried fruit and veggies yet
2) yes, I think you can save a list, or load a previous order

I have been using Le-shop for the last few months (everything from fruits, vegetables, frozen ) and find them very reliable. Delivery is usually next day. The quality is good, pretty much similar to what you get at the stores.

The previous shopping list gets automatically stored. But there is also the option of generating lists of most frequently purchased items.
They also give some freebie coupons once in a while.

P.S. I don't work for nor am affiliated with Le-shop/Migros

Re: How is your experience with Migos www.LeShop.ch ?

We haven't tried Migros' Le Shop, but we are a big fan of Coop's home delivery

We usually place an order every fortnight or so, and order everything from pantry items to fruit & veg, and even meat and poultry. The fruit & veg has always been fresh and well-picked. We've had no problems with the meat and poultry, though sometimes the portions are on the small side. All items are usually well-packed, though our only complaint is that we probably get too many paper bags.

9 out of 10 times, the delivery is either on time or early. You are meant to give half an hour on either side of the scheduled delivery time, yet sometimes they come more than half an hour early! I guess you can't really complain.

Another plus is the delivery guy will take your away your plastic bottles for you, saving you a trip to the recycling bin. They are also happy to deliver your boxes of wine directly to the cellar! (well, they have done so for me )

Perhaps a downside to shopping online is that not all of the in-store specials are available online. So you may miss out on some savings. On the other hand, you are saving yourself the stress of having to go to the supermarket.

So on the whole, we think Coop offer a fantastic service (though, let's hope they don't raise delivery fees again anytime soon)

Do these just do credit card payments or can you also pay by invoice...?

Interesting question because it speaks more to life in Switzerland than anything else. (I guess that's why we're on this forum, eh?)

On the one hand, many stores will send you goods and an invoice here. On the other, how many grocery stores can you go to and ask for an invoice rather than paying before you leave?

Re: How is your experience with Migos www.LeShop.ch ?

I've done both Le Shop and Coop. Some things are better from Migros, other from Coop - it's really worthwhile to look at what's available for your area.

Both require that you enter your post code and the items you can purchase will pop up.

Coop is a little more expensive. You can arrange a Coop delivery the same day if you order early enough (21:00 if ordered that morning). You have to be present for the coop order. Migros will leave it by your door, except for frozen items. Both require a minimum purchase, but frozen items for migros are separate from the minimum and you have to order chf 35 of them - or at least last time I did it. The frozen items from migros come separately, usually within 3 days and you must be present. From Coop, it's all together.

Both have reasonable quality, and if you order meat, cheese or fruits, vegetables, an approximate weight range or quantity is given.

Migros will invoice you, but I can't figure out what they require. I think you have to spend a lot of money or buy frequently or something. Both coop and le shop will allow you to save your shopping lists.

The delivery services are great if you don't have a car, especially for heavy items, or bulky items - laundry detergent, paper towels, mineral water. We used them the first 6 months we lived here because we didn't have a car. So I think either will work for you, I would check them both out.

Re: How is your experience with Migos www.LeShop.ch ?

I use Migros online frequently and find it very reliable and stress free.

They can invoice you and don't require anything from you to set this up as I have been using this option since day one and they have never asked me for anything other than my address

We use Migros online very regularly and it is great for the heavy stuff that you don't want to carry as well as perishables ( We do buy fruits and vegetables as well as eggs ) ..... Both options of payment are possible . If anything is damaged or wrongly sent , the problem is immediately rectified .

Huh. Wonder why we couldn't invoice with Migros then...oh well, whatever. When I use them again, I'll check it and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks

Re: How is your experience with Migos www.LeShop.ch ?

Have used le shop/Migros a few times now for heavy items such as wine, drinks, etc. They will send an invoice (will send an email to confirm the amount first) so you do not need to pay by credit card.
The first shipment was interesting - they delivered what was ordered, as well as 48 bottle of Löwenbrau beer and 3 kilos of cat litter. When I let them know that we had not ordered (nor were invoiced) for these things, the reply was I could either bring them back or keep them free of charge....So I made some friends and colleagues happy...

We like it.

So what does one do with those paper bags ? I've collected a huge mound of Le-shop bags and dont know what to do with them? Putting them out with rest of the paper recycling seems such a waste!

Whenever I get a build up of bags, paper or plastic, I just drop them off at the local Migros,Coop or whatever.

I just deposit them where ever they have one of those packing counters by the check outs.

As long as they aren't all manky looking, by the time I've done my round of shopping, they are always gone.

That's one idea anyway.

We also love the Coop service. They are very reliable and you can save different grocery lists. I think Coop offers nicer bio products than Migro. We also enjoy the wine selection. Coop also takes our PET bottles each time they bring the groceries.

Re: How is your experience with Migos www.LeShop.ch ?

I have been shopping with Leshop for months now and am very happy with their service; if I am not home they just leave the shopping by the door of the flat. The frozen stuff is delivered separately but so far has always been delivered on the same day. They have so far always called me in the morning to set an appropriate time to pass by.

They save your all-previous shopping lists and give you the option to make your own.

I also find the site comprehensive and easy to use.

I agree that it seems a waste to simply recycle the paper bags, but so far, that has been our best option.

Though, lately, we have noticed that the bags have been more fully packed. Perhaps Coop is also aware of how many bags they are using?

The bonus with Migros delivery is you can get stuff that they don't stock in the shop - even the MMM ones. Marmite, taramasolata etc.
