Try Russian mustard. It should be available here.
Bavarian or Austrian should also do the trick :-)

Haven't answered before now because I thought for sure someone else would, but, the strong, yellow mustard you are looking for is in every Super U, Intermarche and Carrefour over any french border. It costs about 1 euro 60 for a jar approximately as big as your head.

How was it?
Not yet been there, probably this week-end

Found an even better selection at the large Coop at Wankdorf (they had 6 or 7 different Maille options, including the great basil one)

Re: Where can I find real (read "strong") mustard?

Damn, seems I have made an unfortunate discovery for my wallet...

Looking for a change for my lunch sandwich today, I went to the basement of Globus. Pure foodies decadence paradise! The whole range of mustard was there (including Coleman), as well as 10 different varieties of salt, 20 of peppers and a superb range of other delicacies. I just took some various spreads (tzatziki, tarama and houmous), which were all quite good, with a special mention for the tarama (way less compact than usual).

Also found the Mariage Frères tea (my beloved Marco Polo) which I was looking for in another thread (and not that much more expensive than in Paris), next to a wide range of Kusmi tea.

Looks like I'll be a frequent visitor!

Not a strong mustard but one of my favorite discoveries en Suisse is the Maille Veloutée mustard - creamy with some sweetness. I can find it at Coop but strangely enough I can never find it in France. Nearly everyone I have introduced to it is now an addict for it, fair warning
