What is back home?

Huge difference in Indians if you compare Switzerland to the UK, or to Germany

Ive spent the last week creating a travel itinerary for an American colleague who is visiting Scotland for the first time. Made me feel quite homesick for once.

Re: The best Indian curry in Zurich?

http://www.sahar.ch/

I go here 3 times a week: Lunch buffet is 21.50, including lamb and chicken (I usually do only the veg). Take away is Veg 12/- and Non Veg : 15/-. The people are super friendly. I think the food is "Indian" but the cooks are from India/Pakistan. (depending on the day).
It is not in the Zurich City. But hey 10 min train ride and you are there. Also great if you are shopping at the Glatt Centrum and feel like you want to have some curry.

Friends corner is the best place to get DOSAS and IDDYAPPAMS in zurich. Most people dont see these two foods in a normal westernzied Indian restaurants. But it is essentially eaten in large swathes of Souther India.

They used to be open 7 days a week. Now they are closed on Sundays. Which is a bit of a pity because we used to do an evening out once a month on a Sunday night. Oh well.

Naanu's
Lovely place, you can sit outside in the summer. Food is delicious.

BTW: All of the above is child friendly. The Friend's corner is a bit small and not ideal for a big pram. But they have a big heart. Makes up for it.

Goodluck!

The food is the same more or less.
I would disagree. The taste and the way of preparation is different. But, the more or less part is true if you stretch it a bit

I will try Naanu and Sahar next.

Re: The best Indian curry in Zurich?

This place on Uetlibergstrasse across from Migros Bau & Hobby is amazing.. lunch buffet all you can eat 19.00, takeaway only 13.50 (and you can fit enough for 2 meals in the takeaway box). http://www.swaad.ch/ Food quality excellent, and nice patio to sit out and eat.

Re: The best Indian curry in Zurich?

Again a Thali is not on the menu. The gallery pictures do nothing for the appetite. Most Indian restaurants only cater for groups where one orders maybe 5 different dishes and shares from each dish.

Click on Menu and Orders, then scroll down. Thali is on the menu. Try slowing down that mouse of yours.

That is a joke of a thali. This is a thali -

A thali is simply a collection of food items. There is no right or wrong or joke thali.

The price is crazy, I agree but that is what I have found with Indian food in Switzerland

You should start a new thread on authentic Indian food rather than curry if that's what you prefer.
