Re: The best burger in Switzerland.

Delicious burgers en Suisse, IMHO, has not been hard to come by tbh. I have yet to try Inglewood which many rave about but I would never consider Holy Cow among my favorites. At the end of the day, it's about the ingredients of course and that is usually in great supply throughout the country.

I like the variety of buns owing to how good bread can be but perhaps the seasoning and mix of meats (which cuts and proportions to mix) is the real secret that evades many establishments

It does have a pretty favourable price-quality ratio though!

Re: The best burger in Switzerland.

I'm sure somone has nominated these already for Zurich but:

The Bite
Heidi & Tell
Korner

I think Korner is the best, and Bite & Heidi are fighting for 2nd/3rd place...

At CHF 15 for a take-away burger?

Never liked the so called gourmet burgers.

I like Paddy Riley's burger in ZH( meat can be much better though). Hate the one of Helvti.

For budget/fastfood option; try burrito brothers in Löwenstrasse. The goat cheese burger is ok.

If you like a classic cheddar burger with a homemade bun then try Portofino in Thalwil. REALY GOOD! And you can't be the view while enjoying it, especially on a hot summer day with a beer.
UPDATE: as of this year the old portofino has changed owners. The name is same but the menu is completely different and way over priced (18CHF for a tiramisu!)

Re: The best burger in Switzerland.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, burger connoisseurs across Switzerland, the search is over! I'm reawakening this thread to let you know that Rando Burger in Montreux makes by far the best burgers in Switzerland, and does so consistently. Their milkshakes are superb, too. It's worth a trip to Lake Geneva just to savour their magnificent meals!

There's another Rando Burger (the original!) at Saint-Cergue, near(ish) Nyon, but I haven't wound my way up there yet. I'll bet it's just as good.

Re: The best burger in Switzerland.

I would nominate http://www.inglewood.ch/#services as possibly the best burger in the world.

It's in Eaux-Vives Geneva, Trip advisor reports are good too https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUs...es-Geneva.html

Been to the one in St-Cergue many times. It's good but I've definitely had better in Switzerland

Interestingly, the Trip Advisor reviews are better for Rando Burger than for Inglewood (Rando Burger has 152 reviews in total, with 70% rating it "Excellent" and 0% "Terrible", while Inglewood has 315 reviews, of which 57% are "Excellent" and 1% are "Terrible"). So according to the court of popular opinion, Inglewood doesn't even have the best burgers in Romandie, let alone the world.

Le Double R (Yverdon)

Burgertruck

Zooburger

Inglewood

There's another burger place in Lausanne near Riponne that my wife says is excellent but I've never had it to rate it - she's a gourmande and likes her burgers too

The best burger I've had en Suisse? Gees in Zermatt, outstanding - among the best I've ever eaten

Re: The best burger in Switzerland.

top tip: go to burger king and ask for a fresh whopper, not one that's been sitting in the tray drying out like an old shoe. It'll save you chf 20+ on your gourmet burger.

Haha, right. A Burger King Whopper menu costs up to 15.90 in Switzerland. For that you get a burger, fries, and an anaemic soft drink. A Rando Classics Burger (fresh, way better taste, cooked rare and delicious) costs 14.90; superb fries are 3.90 and I forget the cost of a drink there, but you can get locally made artisanal syrup and water with unlimited refills for something like 5.00 or less. So we're talking a "saving" of about CHF 8.00 to eat the second-worst burger in Switzerland rather than the best.

Re: The best burger in Switzerland.

Update: will try the Bite on the weekend, and give feedback on my impression here.

Edit: The Bite was good - burger lovely, with a range of options, and some nice sides and drinks (as well as other meal options).
In terms of burger for your buck, Heidi & Tell was better.
In terms of options, the Bite was well in front.
In terms of pure burger goodness (in terms of flavour), the Bite slightly in front.

Last edited by araqyl; 14.01.2019 at 00:15. Reason: Inserting info on the Bite.

We’d agree with those who have suggested The Bite. The BBQ burger is my favourite. Love the cocktails too!

Also like Helvti Diner for a low key, tasty spot.
