They're quite keen on them in France. A quick amazon search brings up loads starting from around 50 eu.

We don't have Brockenhaus in Neuchatel.

OP you may find a second hand one at the CSP second hand shop in Neuchatel. ( up near the station) or in the Speedy cash place up at the top of the road parallel to Rue du Seyon.

Re: wanted: Pressure cooker

Are you sure the one you saw wasn't part of the Coop trophy collection?

http://www.coop.ch/pb/site/common2/n...Lfr/index.html

These collections change about every six months. You collect stamps (you get one for every 10 CHF you spend) in a book and after you've collected a sheet of stamps you can buy these items at a reduced price. In this case the 'list' price is CHF 250 reduced to CHF 100 with two sheets of stamps (48). HOWEVER, the items are not those usually available in the shop, so the reduced-from prices are suspect.

Sometimes these trophy deals are really good (the Sigg pans from a few years back were fab) but nothing in this collection tickles my fancy. So if you want one for CHF100 (I've no idea whether that's a good deal or not), PM me your address and I can send you two sheets.

But they're not called Brockenhaus here. They're called Brocante or magasin de second main.

The four on that list are very unlikely to have pressure cookers. They are almost exclusively furniture.

Re: wanted: Pressure cooker

The electric ones are becoming more popular and i think the way to go.. they have only recently come on sale in de, the russians are ahead of the curve in this area (you can find more for sale there, recipes, reviews) you program and leave them! wunderbar

instant pot, steba dd1 and redmond seem the most popular?

for instant pot you can buy an extra stainless steel interior but they are one version behind in de and u can't ship the latest from uk

steba dd1 is good, they sell a later dd2 in russia, i like the steba because it has insulated walls and works for yogurt, not designed to also bake but if you look at russian recipes its possible.

redmond looks great, you can even bake a cake in it, you can find a stainless steel interior if you search, most expensive though.
oops i think this redmond doesn't pressure cook wah, but they have others that do i think.

This is an offer from about a month ago (no link available), but they had several in the store I use, when I was there last week.

No, I don't think that they have them in Fly.

[I think you're getting your threads in a twist]

I have heard, though, that when you're using a pressure cooker, the noise of the steam being expelled sometimes sounds like Freddie Mercury and David Bowie.

Nope - I'm the other side of the lakes, and try not to venture into uncivilised territory, too often (It's Corgevaux, Murten).

As another - albeit more expensive option - I see in Landi's latest offers (from tomorrow, on), they have an 8.5l one for 129,00, so don't pay more than that.
