Russian Food Stores in Zurich?

Does anyone know of any Russian food stores here in Zurich? There seem to be Russian restaurants but not any stores selling Russian goods. I've even asked some Russians and they say there isn't one. A city as big as Zurich must have one, right?

Re: Russian Food Stores in Zurich?

There used to be a russian food store in Seefeld, and a Polish one at Hegibachplatz, but I think both are gone now. A few products seem available at this online store http://www.russen-shop.ch/products-page/
There is a good polish restaurant in zurich called the Jolka Polka http://jolkapolka.ch/

Hi

How about similar shops in Bern? Perhaps I won't fancy a Russian store too much but does anyone have an idea about a Ukrainian shop? I'm in love with Obolon' and Lvivske beer So, having a store like that would be great

Re: Russian Food Stores in Zurich?

there are no any Russian food stores in Zurich. The closest I know are in Germany, Mix Markt. They sell appropriate kefir and buckwheat, Also kefir is good in Edeka, Germany.

Yep, it's a half decent store. Doesn't have salads though.

Re: Russian Food Stores in Zurich?

You can get buckwheat (гречка) from turkish/asian stores. http://www.barkat.ch/ has it, for example.
Cottage cheese that they sell here in normal shops (denner, coop, migros, etc) is not really "творог" but rather "домашний сыр" (at least that's what we call it in Latvia).

You probably may want to check this one out then, looks like a decent sklep? do a search for "Eastern European delicacies in Bern" on Facebook, they have an address and pics there

Re: Russian Food Stores in Zurich?

cottage cheese is not exactly tvorog. Tvorog is drier... maybe Quark is right? I don't like it though so haven't tried

Re: Russian Food Stores in Zurich?

Near Zurich, apart from what others have said above:

Aarau:
http://www.russen-shop.ch/

St. Gallen:
Berjoska - Russische Spezialitäten  Linsebühlstrasse 16, 9000 St. Gallen, Switzerland
Phone:+41 78 885 54 11

Konstanz:
http://interfeinkost.de/

And not Russian but they had pickles last time I checked, was the Hungarian food shop near fork & bottle in Zurich.

Please would you enlighten the ignorant what in your opinion the difference is between a Russian and a Ukrainian food shop which is situated in Europe?

Right? When food choices become political we've reached a new level of absurdity. Yeah, Ukrainian Borscht tastes different than Russian borscht but the products available to Russians and Ukrainians in stores and markets are exactly the same.
