When Swiss chicken isn't Swiss?

Thought I'd grab some chicken for lunch today at Migros - chicken breast roll to be precise. Yes, yes, I said breast!

With it being Migros packaging by the pricing label looking a bit odd I flipped the packet over to read what is said: Produced in Liechtenstein from Brazilian chicken.

Not impressed I checked the Turkey breast roll - yes, I said breast, again. This time is read: Produced in Liechtenstein from Hungarian turkey.

The ham though is Swiss made from Swiss meat.

So I had ham

Re: When Swiss chicken isn't Swiss?

I don't see your point.

They lied a little bit, but i am sure it was just as good. You may have been eating dodgychicken for years, and just hadn't noticed.

Have you ever been ill, eating this furren' stuff?

Please don't become one of those people that slows us others up, reading the small print on everything.

Brazilian thighs are rather nice too. I find the breasts to be a bit pumped up with additives. Not much flavour.

May be some of us want to support Swiss farmers, or prefer to buy Swiss chicken as it's raised in more humane (chicane) conditions?
