Restaurants in Rueschlikon

It so turns out that I will be making an expedition to the far east... of Switzerland
And as I will be based in Rueschlikon, would any of you recommend some nice restaurants in the area? (one that wouldn't make my new wallet considerably lighter and where a solo, minimal German-speaking tourist wouldn't look out of place!)

I did check tripadvisor, but the opinions of EF-ers would be weighed more!

Da Toni the Pizza restaurant is nice. Belvoir hotel, I have never eaten in the restaurant but I am sure it is lovely. More budget is the Migros Parc en Greune restaurant but that isn't open in the evening.
I have heard good things about the Turkish fish place.
Almost everyone in Ruschlikon speaks English so your lack of Germand shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks, Halseys! I don't eat pizza, so that leaves me with two options from your list. All of their menus (except Belvoir's) happens to be in German (not even a French option!). Any thoughts on Moosegg, Seerestaurant Tracht, and Canton?

Re: Restaurants in Rueschlikon

I am a fan of Tracht (the view! Menu is also very good, even some Asia-influenced dishes are surprisingly decent) and Restaurant Rose(in summer especially, sitting in their garden is lovely, and they always give you a stem of rose in the end <3 ); Canton is quick and and friendly as a lunch option; never been to Da Toni but heard lots of positive things; Belvoir's salad bar was not bad, but I haven't been there in the last 2 years, not sure if it is still a daily offering, view is awesome; another restaurant up on the hill a bit is Sihlhalde, it is a favorite for some of my neighbours, but I personally remain neutral.

There is also a restaurant called Moosegg, never been there so no comments :P

Other than these, the other two options are the Migros restaurant and the Cafe by train station...

Welcome to town and enjoy the grand eating-out adventure!

Re: Restaurants in Rueschlikon

Thank you all!

I am specifically after a dinner/supper at a restaurant within walking distance- so Migros would be out (closes too early) and some others (too far).

So, will have to try one of the following then: Belvoir, Canton, Restaurant Rose, & Tracht.

Re: Restaurants in Rueschlikon

I can recommend Moosegg. I was brought there by a local who lives in Rüslikon. I subsequently brought a guest from Turkey and my husband there on separate occasions and everyone liked it. It's kinda country-side place with a twist.

Gasthof Rose is another one to try. The atmosphere tends to be traditional and the food is pretty good.

Belvoir is ok, but it's more a business place during the week. The view is excellent though.

Re: Restaurants in Rueschlikon

In the end, I paid a visit to Belvoir. As yiviolin mentioned, it was very much a business place, but they got me a splendid table by the window and the food was simply amazing!
