Re: Where to find Rousong (dried Chinese pork floss)

New one on me. Thxs for the heads up.
It sounds like a combination of shredded pulled pork and biltong.

Not sure about shipping

It's nice, you can just mix it with rice and eat it as a snack.

Maybe some of our Chinese friends know where to procure this particular delicacy?

Posting meat cross-border can be tricky. When living in the UK, I once received a delicious smelling box for a French cured pork sausage. Unfortunately, the customs had removed the contents .

That outrage emoji annoys, doesn't it

Wish there was Cpt. Genius emoji. If people don't get something, why not just ask without the omg.

Re: Where to find Rousong in Switzerland (dried Chinese pork floss)

That's what my wife said - this is the recipe she uses. In Vietnamese it's called ruoc (circumflex and grave accent on the 'o'). We've seen it in the Ah Chau near Basel SBB and a few other shops from time to time.

I have sent a message to my Vietnamese neice whose family owns the main asian shop in Ticino.

I'll let you know what she says.

Re: Where to find Rousong in Switzerland (dried Chinese pork floss)

So I did a search on local Chinese forums. It seems that no one has reported a success to find this food in Switzerland, but positive in France and Germany. During the search I came across with quite some recipes about Rousong, does not seem very complicated but does take a bit time to prepare.

Easy to get in London's chinatown (I sprinkle it on steamed chinese veg, topped with slightly diluted oyster sauce) but haven't looked for it here. I'll check in New Asia Markt next time I go.
