| | Looking for sunflower seeds (in shell) in Basel
Hello everyone!
Does anyone know of any places that sell sunflower seeds that are still in the shell and flavored? I've looked in Coop and Migros but could only find the seeds out of the shell. They are a popular snack in America (and kind of addicting) but maybe it's not something that's sold in Switzerland. Here's a link to what I'm looking for: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...=1YITFZECWJGS1
Thank you!

I also love flavored sunflower seeds, unfortunately I was only able to find regular salted sunflower seeds in a shell, you can usually find them at most Turkish shops.

Also, why don't you hop on a tram and head across the border, there is a large Turkish shop not too far from Marktkauf with some excellent Turkish restaurants nearby, where you can get a large platter platter of grilled meat for next to nothing.
Turkish Supermarket Weil am Rhein, http://www.narli-market.de/: Hauptstraße 411, 79576 Weil am Rhein, Germany
Turkish Grillhouse Weil am Rhein, https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...rttemberg.html : Hauptstraße 276, 79576 Weil am Rhein, Germany (make sure you try the goat soup and the mixed grilled platter...bring a large appetite as they don't play around with portions)

The ones I bought here or Germany don't taste fresh at all, and the shell is very hard. Might have been a bad batch, but I gave up trying. I found the best in Chisinau, Moldova.

Ah yes, see OP, Moldova is your answer. Please let me know if you find any ranch-flavored ones. Thanks! |

I buy ours for Daughter No2 at OTTO's, I've only ever seen the salted version, no other flavours unfortunately

Have you tried any Asian or Chinese food store? Because in China it is also a popular snack and I can find it in the Chinese store in Zurich, not sure whether there is one in Basle.

I was actually able to find some at a larger Migros the other day in the snack and chip aisle. They only have the salted kind but at least it's something!

Hi,
Does anybody know if there are any limitations on importin (i.e. ordering from abroad) plantable seeds into Switzerland? Any information is appreciated.
Thanks

From the EU, no problem, but from the US and other non-EU, yes.

You will find that there isn't anything like the kind I used to chew on at baseball games in the US here. Sorry to disappoint you...time to arrange for some nice care packages!
