| | Found brown sugar in St. Gallen
Hi everyone!
Just to let you know I found actual brown sugar in Asiaway supermarket, on Langgasse (just after the Olma hall). I don't remember the exact price, but it wasn't expensive, like 2.- or something.
I've attached a URL picture (shows up as a broken picture when I try posting a pic) as it's clearly a Thai product so I can't tell you the name! I've opened it to give it a sniff, it's definitely the real deal! http://imgur.com/a/rinGc | The following 3 users would like to thank KhiaR for this useful post: | |

The stuff in Coop and Migros was too expensive for you?

It's not the same (if you mean demerara?). The granules are too thick, and this brown sugar has molasses in it, meaning it's better for cookies and a lot of baking recipes.

Actually, no I didn't mean Demerara. I normally use the Migros stuff for baking, it's not quite as chunky as Demerara.
AFAIK, The brown in brown sugar is always from molasses.
Molasses is one thing that I've only rarely seen here.

I do seem to notice a difference with this, mainly in the texture and the smell. It's softer with a strong molasses smell. More like the stuff I'm used to back at home. I don't think it makes a huge difference, but as it's literally round the corner from me it's actually easier than going to Migros haha
I have a huge stash of molasses that someone brought back for me so I'm sorted!

St. Gallen is going to be invaded by Americans earning salaries way above of the EF poverty line, buying all the properties in the 'burbs and forcing the few remaining average Swiss to live in slums around St. Fiden SBB station and in the Mühlenen Ravine.
